Presuming Ronaldo and Berbatov are out for Tuesday's game...

I'd like this line-up

-----------------------------------Van Der Sar-----------------------------------
-
---Rafael--------------Ferdinand-------------Vidic--------------------Evra---
-
---Park-----------------Carrick----------------Anderson--------------Nani---
-
---------------------------Rooney------------Tevez------------------------------

Bench; Foster, O'Shea, Evans, Fletcher, Welbeck, Giggs, Gibson

We don't HAVE to win this, but I want to top the group and have an "easier" team in the last 16.

Villareal are there for the taking and are beatable!

1-2 IMO

Which game is more important this game or the one against City? Personally it has to be the City game, if we put a weaker squad out in this game I still don't think we'd lose. Although saying that we had a pretty strong side against Villareal when they had some key players out (Carzola, Rossi etc.) and we drew 0-0.

I'd go for ...

VDS

Rafael Evans/Vidic Ferdinand Evra

Park Fletcher Anderson Carrick Nani

Tevez

Resting a few players Rooney, Ronaldo (injured?) etc. I hope Anderson and Nani both start against City instead of the likes of Giggs/Fletcher etc. But I can't see it happening.

I think we'll draw this 1-1.

I don't know if you follow Spanish football like I do, but Villareal are currently the second best team in Spain and only 3 points behind league leaders Barcelona so I think you are a bit over confident with those comments to say the least. Villareal have an extremly talented squad and are certainly stronger than Aston Villa, also the atmosphere in the El Madrigal is always fiery and passionate so a draw will be a good result never mind a victory. Our two strikers Rooney and Tevez are both badly off form and Ronaldo picked up a knock today and needs a rest, so I appreciate your confidence but I think it is a bit misplaced at the moment. On current form a draw would be a great result here.

Well...

In their last 6 games, they've

Won 2
Drawn 3
Lost 1

Scored 11
Conceded 12

They could only manage a 2-2 drawa away to Aalborg last time out....

So they're not in the best of form....stop picking EVERY post of mine out and requesting a reason for it...

..Sheesh!

I am assuming you didn't see Ronaldo being substituted and limping off the pitch today, he needs a rest and there is no way he will play on Tuesday. Also, Berbatov is out for two weeks so I don't see how he will make the subs bench by Tuesday LOL

Despite the bad result for Villareal today they are still one of the top 3 teams in Spain. On current form we have no right to expect victory in a fiery passionate stadium like the El Madrigal, against quality opposition that are better than the Aston Villa team we struggled against today.
