This should be easy, by then Arshavin and Pavlyuchenko will be gone and the only thing stopping us will be Pogrebnyak ! But knowing Fergie only half the team will turn up !! but we still should be good enough to get the win

They were a bit of a shock to win the UEFA cup, I think a 50% strong Utd. lineup would get the job done.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

The last time we played the Super Cup was when my Leeds supporting girlfriend (I was an idiot when I was younger) laughed her ass off when Lazio beat us 1-0.

For the love of goodness United, give me redemption!!!! WE MUST BEAT ZENIT!

The game is close to my birthday too so I will sulk for a long. long time if United lose.

Got this email today from MUST, in case anyone is interested?

The UEFA Super Cup Final

Manchester United FC vs Zenit St Petersburg

Friday 29th August - Doors open 5.00 pm

Copper Face Jacks, (Palace Hotel - corner of Oxford St & Whitworth St)

Tickets will be available from tomorrow (Wednesday 13th August) morning so
ask your mates now so you can book all your tickets together as soon as
they go on sale. Tickets will again be priced at £3 per ticket**. As you
are probably aware previous events sold out very quickly and with this
being a Friday night in the city centre demand is likely to be high.

Once again the venue has generously offered to slash beer prices for our
event and we also anticipate a special promotion on the number one selling
Russian beer, Baltika, brewed round the corner from our opponents (Zenit
St. Petersburg). We also expect food to be available at the venue as well
so you're sorted if you want to come straight from work.

Stay tuned to this space as well since we're intending to put on regular
match screenings this season where United supporters can enjoy watching the
game in a great atmosphere in the company of fellow Reds without the
irritation of the ABUs to sour the party. We'll be asking for feedback from
members shortly to find out what you want.

**We apply a nominal charge of £3 for tickets for two reasons - (i) every
penny of profit from the event goes directly to the trust (MUST is a not
for profit organisation) (ii) It is the best way to help to control numbers
attending. If we didn't issue tickets at all we'd probably have to turn
people away on the night. Alternatively if we made them free some people
who'd taken free tickets wouldn't bother turning up thus depriving someone
else of the opportunity to attend.
