Carrick was indeed magnificent although Fletcher didn't look exactly comfortable being harried. My boy remarked that he's better at winning the ball rather than holding on to it.

I'm not about to withdraw my assertion that Saha should be sold but that performance was his best so far this season. The way he chased after each ball and kept wanting to be in the mix of things is precisely what we, the fans, want of Man United players. He's running out of time but is now making an honest effort to make amends for his absymal previous performances.

A terrific performance by United. Our attacking play was sublime at times and what a finish by Rooney for the 4th! Fantastic to see Saha get on the scoresheet and for Ronaldo to keep ahead of Adebayor in the race for the golden boot.

With Arsenal dropping a couple of points and Chelsea losing the cup final it was a very good weekend!

11-1 on aggregate against the Magpies this season. Can we play Newcastle every week?!

Lets not forget, have we ever seen a fit Saha, and he is fit now?

I am watching this game now on MUTV, the whole game unedited. Its 12 mins gone and the fans are in good voice singing "you are my solskjaer".

On the subject of the Newcastle defence - they only have one player who must save them about 30 goals conceded per season - Taylor. He is on the line blocking, he is blocking shots on target, he is all over, in front of every shot. I do not personally like him, I think he is a cheat and diver, but, as a defender - the only one they have!

The Ferdinand tackle that stopped Owen getting a shot in - masterful, inch perfect - brilliant. The geordies were screaming penalty but Ferdinand does not even touch Owen, it was Owens momentum that caused him to crash down. Well played Rio. The ref had a good game (my god - I am praising a ref)!!

Butt should have been red carded for that elbow on Nani and Smith should have been booked for the tackle on Van der Sar, he never even tried to play the ball. Butt second bookable offence and not even a yellow! He took Fletcher out of it!

We all know what a fit Saha can do but the question how often is he? He's 29 now and on his last legs at best. Do I see him staying till 32? Highly unlikely.
