Did i make the right decision?

On Sunday i had a choice, either go to watch the surveyors rugby 7s with my girlfriend or go to the pub with someone else and watch Wigan Manchester United.

I've been dating my gal for about 4 years (on and off) but it would seem that this is about to end. I don't get to see her that much cos she lives in the rusty town of Bham and i'm a Watford boy. Long distance sucks and we see each other on the occassional weekend and week day if we can fit the time in.

Anyway she came over mine saturday night then we were meant to go to the rugby. However at the 11th hour i told her noway am i missing the match. Did a U-turn on the arrangements. Leaving her to travel from mine to Richmond alone and i stayed at Watford to watch the game. Wasn't sure at the time if she was ****ed or not but today we've broken up. For several reasons but i think this topped it off for her, that i stood her up.

What is rubgy 7's? The rugby 7's is a bunch of amature rugby players from various property companies around the UK who meet up anually and have a tournament. These kind of events are most likely to be utter s/hite in comparison to watching United pick up the league. It's just a bunch of toffs all drinking free Stella talking about markets and pretending they are important. Thats my future apparently - I'm interested in buildings and property but not all all these functions that come with them. These are people who talk on the blackberrys on the silent carridge on british rail or those who think everyone up north lives resides in a terrace. I don't want to hang around with people like that. People who my girlfriend now socalises with. People who i'll be socalising with in the future.

Anyway was it the right decision to watch the game?

One thing is for sure, i may not have this girl forever. But United is called UNITED for a reason!

She'll come round eventually. Of course you made the right choice.
If she doesn't understand. Then you're better off as you are.
Forget Egg chasing toff's anyway.

Good man Richy. If your girl wont let you watch the last day of the season
with United winning the Title she doesnt understand who you are.
You are better off without her.
Fair play for doing the U-turn, about time ya saw sense ;-)

I couldn't handle not watching the match. Right decision, she should understand. Who does she support?

She doesn't support anyone. Watched the liverpool game with me this season and went to spurs with me at the start though.

In all seriousness, if you really like her, you should tell her, tell her that she is more important than United, the season is nearly over so over the summer you have more time with her.

You did right Richard ...

I'm like you - any function
I go to that is connected
with work just bores me
so much !!! So much
grovelling to the boss for
these guys, telling tales,
backstabbing each other
to get up to the next
rung (?) of the ladder.
They make me sick actually.

Much easier to just sleep
with him twice a week !!
(Joke !!)

But yes, she too seems to
be like these guys and she
would drop you like a bad
habit if a bit of promotion
came her way !!

"What you doin today?"
"Watchin the match"
"Is it important"
"They're ALL important"
"OK, maybe later then"

My g/f knows now. We've stopped having that convo. After 4 years, she should understand. By the sounds of it, it was your function anyway. So screw it.

nah i think u were wrong.
iv been with my mrs for only a year and a half and i would never send her to go somewhere alone.
so if u were going out with her for 4 years surely u cared about if she got back safely??

on another note i COMPLETELY AGREE with it ending as if she can't see that united is in your blood then she wont understand.
thats why u need a manc girl lol

EDIT-united (im guessing) is part of YOU so if she doesn't like it she cant like you...
