Could not agree more with you, The level of Anti-Social-Behaviour today is disgusting and something need to be done very soon or the streets will
not be safe for people to walk in the daytime never mind night time.

I posted this article, about a month ago, which shows how bad things have got....

..‘Threat to Society Today’

Groups of teenage youths all over the UK have issued formal complaints to their local councilors about the ‘threatening behaviour’ of elderly people within their community.

‘It’s getting intolerable’, said Shane, 13. ‘They take over the bus shelters, shout loudly to each other and even get on the bus without paying. How do they get away with it? Some people even get up and offer their seats to them because they’re so afraid.’

One youth, who wished to remain unnamed, said she would sometimes cross over the street when she saw a group of elderly people approaching.

‘You can spot them a mile off. They’ve got this kind of uniform they wear and a way they walk so they all look the same and can recognize each other. You can easily tell the ones to really avoid by the beige jackets and matching trousers; they’re the really dangerous ones,’ she added. ‘I hate it when they wear those tweed caps and headscarves so you can’t see their faces properly, it’s quite intimidating.’

There have also been rumours of organised dog fights in local parks, where elderly gangs assemble with their poodles and Yorkshire terriers for the alleged dog baiting.

There has been several reports of Gran Racers organising illegal street races
in shopping centres and local parks resulting in at least one minor accident
resulting in injuries to a teenagers foot.

But local police have so far seemed powerless to act against the pensioner gangs even after recent reports of drug dealing in the town centre.

‘It’s shocking – they go out and openly score pills for arthritis, heart conditions and angina,’ said Shane. ‘One pensioner was also seen openly using a pipe with suspected drugs concealed in a ‘Three Nuns’ tobacco packet.’

This has got to be stopped but as soon as these elderly menaces are moved
along or dispersed they congregate in other areas such as jumble sales or
church coffee mornings.

Police recently closed down two illegal morning tea dances and confiscated gramaphone records after complaints about noise and rowdy behaviour.

No arrests were made after all suspects fled the scene on their mobility scooters or customized zimmer frames.

I've been and some others in my area, have been victims of such behavior. My house was attacked with lots of stones, windows were broken. Same with other houses and passing cars, taxis and buses were attacked in the same manner.

We did manage to catch them on camera and few of them were arrested.....the problem had died down now..although there might be few minor incidents occuring every now and then.

that kind of behaviour is high in my area (stretford). although average families may suffer, i have a small status around stretford. (basically all the hoodies and thugs kno i'm a safe lad) so i'm neva bothered.

however if i was bothered i wouldn't sit in my living room wishing it would go away, i reckon the best way to deal with it is to face it. recently the knife laws have been toughened so i don't take my knife around with me anymore, although its for protection only its not what the police would see.

but i do still have an aluminium baseball bat in my car. i kno i sound a thug myself but its what society has forced me to do

National Service wouldn't solve that much. Conscription is hardly an option and sending juvenile delinquents off to the army would result in a crap army and AWOL recruits.

The generally poor behaviour of the youth in the UK is completely the fault of their parents and the government. British parents who exploited the Labour government's 'dole' system were the forerunners of kids who see no need to study, which inevitably leads them to focus on activities like smoking, bunking school, drugs, sex, talking trash with friends on street corners, massive peer pressure etc (ie. an entire shift in attitude). The physical punishment dished out by many parents for poor behaviour causes their children to find physical force a natural response to anger or disagreement in their own lives.

The following summarises my thoughts perfectly:

If a child grows up in an environment of criticism, the child will learn to criticize.
If a child grows up in an environment of hate, the child will learn to fight.
If a child grows up in an environment of shame, the child will learn to feel guilty
If a child grows up in a praising environment, the child will learn to appreciate.
If a child grows up in an encouraging environment, the child will learn to be confident.
If a child grows up in an environment of understanding, the child will learn to be patient.
If a child grows up in a just environment, the child will learn to be fair.
If a child grows up in a secure environment, the child will learn to trust.
If a child grows up in an approving environment, the child will develop self-esteem.
If a child grows up in an environment of acceptance and friendship, the child will learn to find love in people.

i agree its the parents.

i grew up in gorse hill, a roughish area of stretford wheres theres numerous crime reports and recently a fatal shooting. but my parents raised me right, taught me bad and good and i didnt fall into any troublemaking gangs. of course i was mischeivious cos i was a little kid.

i moved from the area years ago and am grateful of my parents for doing that. i think they could sense the area was spiralling out of control and decided to move fast.

I dont agree with you on that just cause they will be forced to join the army it wont mean to say they will not turn out to be good soldiers, After all they will get the best training by the best army & the army did not suffer from it last time national service was intact?

Instead of carrying a weapon for your own protection why dont you be of some good use & report these thugs to the authority & instead of being ignorant, It takes good community members to help fight against this disease that is striffing our streets & sorry to say FU your one of the few that is letting it all happen by not acting on it, You could inform the police without these thuggish mates of yours knowing that you have done a good deed?

Yes your right on one thing parents do have a big role model to play for the upbringing of there children but these parents just dont give a damn half the time?

Because the police will not do anything Jenna thats my point. some police stations in this country close at night! so if i call the police they take longer to get to me because my nearest station are all tucked up for the nite !.

it also make the situation a hell of a lot worse if you snitch on thugs in your area, because then they have a grudge against you AND the police are too busy catching speeding motorists to tackle youth crime. which means bricks will be thrown throught my windows and my car vandalised.

i'd rather take the fight straight to a yobs face then sit cowering in my living room waiting for the police to arrive. i'd rather take the law into my own hands then rely on a less the reliable police force anyday. people say its the parents. it is the parents but its also this government not taking enough action.
