As for carrying weapons, well, that's just plain and utterly stupid...
...for what reason re you going to "pull" a knife or another weapon on
someone? Because they call you fat or something stupid!

Overall, its laid back parents who don't give a damn how their kids act and that
who to blame. Thankfully I was brought up in an environment where, if I did
something wrong, I was disciplined.

Bad parents = anti-social behaviour

I agree. However, while disciplinary action is sometimes required, kids learn the most by example and benefit more from a parent calmly explaining what they did wrong, why it was wrong etc. and requesting that they not do so again.

Neither me nor my brothers have ever been so much as lightly hit by my parents. They have never used physical force on us and have never needed to. There should be no need for hitting children, and if such a need arises things have already veered off course.

I know you didn't specify which method of discipline was most favoured in your household, and therefore this isn't aimed at you but rather everyone. I just thought I'd make the point.

So on one post you say " the police do have powers they will tackle this problem with real professionalism they just need help with the community"

So tell me how, going outside to fight with a gang of youth with knives and weapons, helps the police exactly ?

Answer...It doesn't....it provokes the situation even worse, escalates the violence,
creates even more problems for the police and just about every time results in people stabbed, in hospital, brain damages, paralized or dead.

and please stop sending me the same things in PMs, Thankyou.

Oh yeah, agree 100%

Sometimes though punnishments do have to be laid down though.

But by no means, slapping of hitting the child! That way, the child gets confused because the parents are doing something to them that they're being told not to do.

But its the parents to blame IMO

  • The cops have neither the manpower nor the legality to just walk around shooting and arresting youths.
  • Only a small portion of the arrested youths wouldn't just be released within 24 hours.
  • Everyone has human rights that may not be violated.
  • Children behave based on their upbringing.
  • While prevention is better than cure, cure must be kept as an option as far as possible.
  • When people lose hope, all is lost. Such would happen if the government waged war on its own youth.

Bye.

So because i used to carry a knife to protect MYSELF that makes me a coward. i once got chased by a gang of 20 + yobs. if they'd caught me i would most probably have been killed given the drugs and alcohol they were fueled up on. i'm now wise not to go thru areas like that again. if i do happen to walk past a yob or a couple of yobs nowadays and they start becoming violent, i like the comfort of at least having protection with me.

as i said i carry mine for protection not too just pull out on anyone that looks at me wrong.

not cowardice, but common sense.

You can blame the kids, the parents, society, the rich, the poor etc. etc.

When in fact you should be blaming Margaret Thatcher.

Yes! It does.

Its been proven that people who stupidly carry knives are more
likely to get into fights and get stabbed themselves.

What would make someone carry a knife bewilders me!

A mate of mine went to Italy and he brought me back these two
small dagger/knife things in a leather casing. I still have them
and have never "pulled" them on someone.

Knives are for buttering bread and cutting various things around
the home, not for threatening and butchering people!

Answer me this FU, say you were walking down a street at
23:00 some night and you had your knife in your pocket or
in your sock...ok?

A bloke comes up behind you and "starts" on you, threatens
you, demands money etc....

You immediately think, "Heyy, I'll get my knife"....Tell me
exactly what you would then do once the knife was visible to
a lad robbing you?? Stab him? Slit him?

Sheesh.....cop on!
