Need quality striker first. From the Van Nistelrooy mould.

Ronaldo on the right enables us to have him as an option to bring in as a striker when switching during game but need striker with his goal-rate to replace Ole and Louis as I feel he's played his last game for United.

Too many injuries!!!

I wouldn't take him for a big price, poor defensively, seems to be the opinion of most post so you are not alone. I'd say we're just a big striker away from being complete.

me too. dun like the idea of him at utd. the gap he left behind after going forward is way too big. we have evra at the other end, and we need a rather defensive minded rb to balance.

Am I the only one who doesnt want an RB signing?

Honestly guys, with Neville coming back and Hargreaves doing so well in that position I don't see a need for RB.

In fact our need for a left back is glaring in comparrison.

Have any of you stopped to imagine, painful as it might be, what we would do if Evra sustained a lengthy injury?!?!? O'Shea or Silvestre anyone?

As it is, I htink Silvestre and Saha are heading out this summer. So really, O'shea?!

Nope, I would love Richards at Man Utd, but there's no need for him or Alves or any RB. But we do have a glaring need for a LB. This is where Lahm would come in.

He's a right-footed LB who plays very well on the right. He might not be as muscular and strong as Richards, but he is better than Alves in my opinion, because he is as good at defending as he is going forward.

Lahm is my first choice signing. If not, than maybe we can do an Arsene Wnger-style signing where we buy someone unknown who turns out to be pretty darn good like Bakary Sagna.

i agree . wes is fine at rb for me with nev as stand in next year . we need a left back who is happy to warm bench though which lahm would not take to .

for me we could do with huntelaar as he would give us the option of lumping it to an old fashioned forward if needed . i also maybe controversially think we need to replace vds --- is foster good enough ? hope so . buffon would be nice

No controversy mate. It's nice to see someone can go against the crowd and call a spade a spade.

VDS made some brilliant reflex saves, but has looked suspect flapping at crosses nd his kicking is an example and how it should NOT be done.

I think from what I've seen of Foster at his time at Watford, he can do it and should be given next season to prove it.

Alve - doesn't defend as well as needed. Fabiano - 28, went from brasil to france (too early, pushed off the boat) to brasil (Mr record breaker) to portugal (mother kidnapped in brasil) to spain (mr record breaker once more). he's 28 and has been around the block for a while, i don't think he should be targeted for physical reasons. El moro and Scheva couldn't adapt to the british league after x no of years elsewhere. what makes ferguson think than Fabiano can succeed where these two failed?

I just hope Ferguson isn't spending money for the sake of spending money.. I;d be more happy with buying no one in defence or attack until january; it'd give Saha(haha)1 last chance to prove his worth or be flogged off. I'm happy with Wesley and Gary at the Rb positions. Gary can put in a decent cross, if not then hargreaves can. SO our defence is very strong and doesn't need adding to. However, if M Richards is about, then a bid for him certainly wouldn't go amiss..

I think it's imperative for a winger to come in, a defensive midfielder and bring in Campell/Saha (if fit) for the 4th spot. I don't think we need to BUY a striker as i have a feeling manucho will chip in with a few goals.

I think we could do with a bit more 'magic' in centre midfield though, a sparkling old school scholes type player who'll bang them in. we need one! Hargreaves scores mainly from set pieces *, Carrick doesn't like scoring goals himself, Anderson can't hit a Burro's batty with a ball for a goal, though his passing is good and incisive.

Striker - No
Midfield: Wigan duo
Defender: no. But if Micah is available, then a possibility to be looked at.
GK: Cech if he's available?

Imo, we don't need a goalkeeper. VDS has at least one more year left in him and Foster is going to be World Class if he gets the chance.

I think we should sign a RB though. Brown has had a very good season, but he isn't a natural right-back and gets caught out quite a bit by very good, tricky wingers. Next year I would prefer Richards, Lahm or maybe someone unknown to us (much like the traitor was when he first came, but hopefully the ending is better )

We also need a striker imo, so I think we should go for Fabiano, Santa Cruz or Eto'o.

If we are going to sign a winger, then great. But we don't necessarily need one at this point in time, and we definitely don't need any CM players either.

Imo, Wes is a good defender, and has had a very good season.

But I wouldn't say hes magnificient, and he does get beaten quite a bit.
