| The premier league is not an easy place to establish for someone when it comes to jumping from academy football to first team. Not saying it’s impossible but yes difficult none the less. It gets harder if the team you are playing for is team is fighting for multiple trophies. Frankly speaking we have not produced a talent of the 92 era but it has also to do with lack of opportunities and patience for players to get a prolonged run out in the first team.
Rossi was the pick of the lot when it comes to making the step up, why he did not get games or was not even on the bench for most of the games is baffling to me. The amount of talent he has plus his work ethic should have made him an automatic choice for first team football. I think he had to leave when we decided to sign Tevez as his opportunities were going to be limited. I think pique left in a hurry as he would have had his opportunity to play especially the European matches where he was much preferred by Sir Alex.
As mentioned in the discussion it has become increasing difficult with the infusion of Chelsea’s money to field youngster along with the fact that we did not start last years season very well. Also the debacle of fielding a youth team for carling cup was major reason for most of the youngsters not to get an opportunity.
Finally about Arsenal, I think their fans know about their debt situation because of the new stadium and their faith in Wenger is unparallel. He has created so many exciting teams but is set back time and again with players leaving. The difference in his teams and ours is that we buy high priced youngsters and he buys unknowns at lower prices.
