    Do we really need another left back? We already have Evra, Fabio, De Laet who prefer the left, and Sheasy can easily slot in at LB too.

    I'm sure the lads a good player, but paying close to 10mil for a player who will face heavy competition for a spot seems strange.

    Agreed. Evra has a good few years left in him and 8mil is far too much for a prospect in a position we already have great cover for.

    I've never seen him play but he would have to be something special for that money.

    So he can't get a game ahead of a 36-year-old and we're expected to pay 8 million for him? Probably no better than the twins.

    I'd love another Rafael.......Wouldn't it be great if there was someone like Rafael but he played on the left.

    But where could we find a left sided Rafael?? Its a shame he doesnt have a twin.

    buying him would be a waste, with limited finances, we should spend on the midfield first and foremost.

    Agreed HD, but there's not that much quality out there for that amount of money (in the departments you mentioned).

    Can't see why we would spend £8 on a player never mind £8million with the debt at the moment.

    Corinthians Defender Dodo Reveals Man Utd Deal

    Corinthians Defender Dodo Reveals Man Utd Deal Who Ate all the Pies

    I think we have a deal that gives us the "first option to sign him until he's 21", but as the player says himself, it might or might not get triggered.

    Corinthians young defender Dodo has revealed his potential move to Manchester United isn’t as dead as his name might suggest.

    United signed a ‘first option’ deal with the Brazilian club for the 17 year old centre back last year, but it was believed to have expired in February of this year.

    However the youngster has revealed that the Premier League champions have first dibs on him until he turns 21 (in 2013);

    “This is so complicated that sometimes I do not understand the law. There is a contract with Manchester United and also Corinthians, which runs through to when I turn 21 years of age. So things are still quite slow.”

    In other Manchester United/Brazilian child prodigy news, United are also said to be tracking Figueirense midfielder Roberto Firmino who is apparently rated at around €3 million and has, almost inevitably, been dubbed the ‘new Paul Scholes’.
