Ok this is my first post here. I enjoyed reading what you all had to say about new players coming in.
HOWEVER
I have to say that many of the things said here are unrealistic. We DON'T need to buy any new players.
Van der Sar can go for another season and Ben Foster is an England international. He has the class to do a good job.
Our defense is solid, why would we buy another defender we have cover on the right in Simpson and Brown. On the left we have O'Shea for Evra. Maybe we need to do something bout this position but i'd like to see a youth player come in.
In the centre Pique is awesome and let's not forget about the injured Silvestre (WHO CAN PLAY LEFT BACK).
There's nothing to say about the midfield, we might even have too many players.
There is no need for a new striker. Rooney, Tevez, Saha and Manucho. Saha is a disappointment due to his injury problems. Why sign Manucho then buy another striker, give the boy a chance if he messes up then do something about it.
No one has as much class as we do. Any more and we might suffer the consequences like Real Madrid a couple of years ago with Figo, Zidane, Beckham, Ronaldo, Raul etc. Or we may suffer in-house fighting like Chelsea last season.
I know it's a long first post but we don't need to spend any more money.

For a first post, I thought it was a very good post and it was detailed.

I look forward to reading more of your posts.

And I do actually agree with it, but it looks like Brown is leaving in the summer, because his contract is up and he looks like he isn't going to sign a new one. So if any position needs filled, then I would say right-back.

berbatov would be a great addition to our attack.
lahm would be a great full back to get.

i believe these 2 positions must be improved for utd to step up another level ,this team is not the finished article yet,a few tweaks by fergie and it can dominate for at least 5 yrs in the prem.

As usual i will say Huntelaar but any out-and-out striker i will be pleased with!
Also a right back maybe alves or less pricey, but my favourite would be Philly Lahm.

i think the position of right back is a top priority!

with wes brown not signing an extension, simpson who's not yet ready for a big competion and gary neville nearing his retirement... it's the right back that sir alex must study...

a center forward which we've miss since van nistelrooy move to spain is also needed...

a cover for left back!

Summer 2008 Needs :

Tevez : Complete the deal. 20 million is required (without Wages etc).

Manucho : Will be back from Greece.

Right Back : Brown is leaving. Neville isnt getting any younger, we need a quality right back.

Striker : Saha has been a problem (injury). We need a good enough striker who does not mind warming the bench. Should do the job when called upon.

Midfield and Gk does not nedd any changes.

A new rb - Micah Richards, Lahm, Alves, Sergio Ramos
A new clinical striker - Huntelaar, Villa, E'to, Benzema, Berbatov

It also depends on what players retire/leave...I would not be surprised if we do the double EPL & CL and players like Scholes, Giggs, VDS retire because they are right at the top...in that case I would like to see maybe Vicente for Giggs and Deigo (Weder) for Scholes and maybe a top quality keeper for VDS like Casillas or Buffon (who both need to experience football outside their countries)
