Worldwide historical events that stick in your mind.

Since we have members from all over the world, and all different ages, on our forum i thought it would be interesting to see the variation of
different historical events that we remember.

I've tried to keep away from sports as we chat about that all the time.
There were a lot more than 9 that really stick in my mind but thought i would keep it shortish so i didn't cover every event worldwide.

The events of September 11th 2001.

The Falklands war.

The fall of the Berlin Wall.

Man landing on the moon.

Bradford fire disaster.

Heysel.

Hillsborough.

Nelson Mandella released.

Pricess Diana crash and death.

I'm too young to remember anything in any great detail other than the following:
  • 9/11
  • Princess Diana's death, I didn't really understand what was happening tbh I was too little.
  • I also remember Bill Clinton's speech about bombing Iraq after they invaded Kuwait.

Lord willing, there won't be anymore tragedies to remember in my lifetime.

Pricess Diana crash and death was really sad...but what hurts even more was that Mother Theresa died in the same period.

I also remember in Poland how the general Jaruzelski used the military to stop Solidarity movement in 81. It was great to see him failing.
The opening of the Berlin wall. The visable symbol of the cold war. And the people of East Berlin opened it.
Gulf war that transformed the bloody war to a video game. Now we go to war with ease...we dont have to see the blood anymore.

RedForceRising will become famous soon enough
  • The Berlin Wall being hacked down by smiling East Germans
  • The first Gulf war
  • The death of princess Diana
  • 9/11 - What a horrible day and I mean not to offend anybody, but one that the American government either allowed to happen or worse
  • 7/7 - equally horrendous. But why would a terrorist, who is about to kill himself order a Big Mac before doing so? And why did a witness say the bomb blast left a hole in the train floor wihich showed an upward force, indicating the bomb had been underneath the train?

Man, how oculd I have forgotten the tsunami.

It missed Singapore, but teachers from my old school died in Thailand.

A crazy event. I had friends in Penang, Malaysia, who were on the beach the day before and who only flew out the very morning it happened.

They felt so lucky and blessed.

My guitarists best friends perished while on holiday.
