Manchester City Preview
Manchester City will could be suffering in terms of morale because they have not started December well. A draw at home against Everton was followed by a defeat away to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. However, they remain one of the only unbeaten sides in the country with a record of six wins and two draws at home this season. They are the joint highest scorers in the league at home with 19, the same as their opponents.

Injuries and Suspensions
Manchester City are missing three key players for this clash; Gael Clichy, James Milner and Micah Richards. Milner is the closest to a return but he has been struggling with a hamstring problem which could reoccur in the cold weather. Jack Rodwell and Aleksandar Kolarov are both rated as 50/50 chances for this match but they too have muscular problems which may not be risked. David Silva could be out for two to three weeks after picking up a hamstring injury.

Back Robin Van Persie to score at any time at 6/4 with William Hill* against a patched up Manchester City side.

Manchester United Preview
United go into this game following a 1-0 home defeat in the Champions League to FC Cluj. They will be worried about their defence as they have consistently conceded the first goal in games this season. However, no other team has scored more goals with United’s tally on 18. They have a 75% win rate from all fixtures played away from home which will give them great confidence heading into this match.

Injuries and Suspensions
United have had a long injury list all season long. Anderson and Nani will both miss the game as they have hamstring problems while Antonio Valencia is unlikely to return from a persistent hip injury. Ryan Giggs is also suffering with a hamstring problem and tom cleverly has a calf injury, both players have a minor chance of taking part. Shinji Kagawa could return and take a place on the bench for the match while club captain Nemanja Vidic is not likely to take part in the fixture.

United look very good value at 15/8 with William Hill* to win this match considering they will be determined to avenge the humiliating scores from last season.

Manchester City v Manchester United Statistics
Manchester City are yet to lose a match in the league this season with nine wins and six draws from their 15 games so far. The attack of the side has been prolific with 28 goals scored but their defence has frequently been criticised and has looked vulnerable against the bigger teams.

United have either won or lost this season with 12 wins and only three defeats though they would take a draw if it was offered to them. No team has scored more goals than United this season with a current total of 31, though they have conceded 21 goals home and away which is the more than Manchester city or Chelsea.

Head to Head: The teams have met 79 times in total at Manchester City’s ground. United have the edge in terms of wins with 28 victories and they have managed to get a draw in 24 matches. The last time United won at City in the league was in the 2009/2010 season with a 1-0 victory.

Recent Form: The recent form of Manchester City has been up and down like a yo-yo. They dropped points in two Premier League fixtures last month and are yet to win any match in December.

United go into this game having won three matches in a row after losing away to Norwich in November. United have won five out of their last six Premier League matches and the only recent defeats have come in dead Champions League games against Galatasaray and FC Cluj.

City have the home advantage but United have the recent form despite the goals which have been conceded early on. United are well equipped to take any pressure and look good to steal a narrow win.
