    David De Gea was signed from Atletico Madrid for a reported £18 million in June 2011, despite an uncertain start to his United career De Gea is regarded as a very talented keeper however he was dropped/rested and replaced by, Anders Lindegaard.

    An injury to Lindegaard gave De Gea a chance to return to the starting lineup once again, his performances were much improved and after some very impressive displays finished his first season strongly.
