Think of a winger and then think of something that rhymes with Fanni, wouldn't have been a good pick in this draft at all.

Aimar is a wasted talent imo. Never hit the heights his talent should have done. A good pick nonetheless but not a great a pick as some are making out.

TD - As I pointed out, Duff is a great crosser of the ball and is always willing to track back, that's exactly the type of winger my team needed. I had another couple of guys in mind but I had to think of the balance of my team as well.

    Damn right.

He has also been excellent for Ireland this decade.

I always felt kind of bad for him, he's a great player, got supplanted by one of maybe 7 or 8 guys who could actually do it, and never really got another crack at a big club.

I disagree. Maybe its because I have got a soft spot for Valenica but I dont see Pablo Aimar as a wasted talent tbh he was influential to the Valencia side who were competing with the likes of Real Madrid/Barcelona for titles and suprisingly back then it wasnt a two horse race, Valencia actually won the title twice and Mr Aimar was one of the main reasons why they won it. He was also class for them in the Uefa Cup which they won back when Rafa Benitez was their manager and he narrowly missed out on a CL medal. From 2005/06 onwards maybe Aimar was a waste of talent mainly due to injuries but before then he was good. Valencia splashed out big on him too.

Hard to see how Duff was picked when Alvaro Recoba didnt get picked. Another shocking omission was Mendieta he was solid early in this decade.

Mendieta is not a shocking omission

Because Duff is a winger, Recoba and Mendieta aren't. I needed a tricky winger who was good at crossing the ball and who could track back. Duff ticks all the boxes.

I was thinking of picking Florent Malouda, but Duff won out because of his longevity.

Some players I thought might have been picked:

Shay Given, Belletti, Steve Finnan, Ludovic Giuly, Florent Malouda......

I always liked Ludovic Giuly because we had the same birthday.

And did anyone take Fernando Morientes?

I almost took Robinho, had Frings on my list, but deleted him because he's a handballing cunt. Fabiano is a pretty shocking omission, same with Guti.

I know Mendieta isnt I was just suggesting him :D But didnt Recoba play LM/LAM for Inter during this decade?

Suprised Valeron didnt get picked too.

The ones in bold I thought of. If I had gone 4-3-2-1, I would have wanted Cocu and Guti alongside De Rossi in the centre.

    No Sebastien Frey either.
