    Commercial hip-hop has gone downhill but that's because it's expanded so much and is now one of the biggest and most popular genres in the world, there is still an incredible array of talent in the genre.

    If you like late 80s stuff get some EPMD & The D.O.C.

    You mentioned Jay Z and The Beatles which reminded of DJ Dangermouse's Grey Album which is a mix of Beatles white album and Jay-Z's Black album. It's really very good. Have a listen. This is part 1 of 5 I think:
