if you run all your stuff thru itunes, its a brilliant device to have... if you dont, and dont really plan to, then certainly dont bother

its mainly designed for the mac (or itunes) using community to have all their media (pics, music, movies, tv shows, etc) directly streamed to their tv

people who use it to its full potential swear by it...

like i said, if itunes is your bread and butter, and you run everything through it (including converted video's that you've downloaded or made)... its a steal

and its cheap enough to try... if you know what i mean (£99)

ps. if your a mac boy it will excell even more by using OSX specific applications

I have one and i am watching netflix on it now.

Watched my christmas pictures through it earlier

It enables you to either rent films, watch youtube, flickr etc on the big telly and apps that have airplay enabled so stuff like spotify can be played through home cinema for instance.

Its expensive for film rents compared to going to blockbuster but factor time and petrol and it evens out

Bought mine last year. Like Clambuster said very cool thing to have if most of your gadgets are Apple. tbh after a few months I got slightly bored of it, but on the occasional use its certainly worth buying.

If you do not have apple kit you would be better off getting a wd live box

mine gets used most for airplay of music

ive had mine a month, and i now have over 400 episodes of tv shows, and 50 films... all torrent downloaded, all tagged up, and all artworked up

the way its advertised, using netflix and rentals off itunes, i have never used it for, and probably never will

manipulate it, and let it flourish

i downloaded 1gb blu ray film(j edgar movie with dicaprio) and ran it as if it was on disc no issues at all sound was a little low tho but there is a volume button on the remote which made fine, the qaulity of the blu ray was not as good as it can be but i am hoping that to be down to the file being compressed, overall i happy with it.

1gb for 1080p BD rip is well compressed

i downloaded the Luck opening episode (the horse racing show), and it was a 720p broadcast rip... the file was 2.5gb (for a 60min episode) and it looked astonishing!

j edgar in 1080p should be topping 10gb i think...

i wouldnt judge the device on that initial download

not going to mate i have now downloaded other blu rays like goon 720p and it was mint no issues at all,but i am thinking of downloading a full rip like 10-15gb just to see what its like but its just finding the time with work and all, they also play smooth no freezing or skipping for the money it cost its the best thing out there for me £28 best thing ever well happy with it:)

just remember... 1080p on anything less than a 40" is a complete waste of time. if your on a 50" then 1080p is a given... but if your on a 32" (for example) id always stick with the 720p rips

    even upscaled 576p on a 32" looks f*ckin mint

ah f*ck it... whatever you're happy with
