I'll give it until Xmas until you're a fully fledged 'Berbatard' like me, Jazz and a few others:p ;)

Let's just say that the Huntelaar camp held a crisis meeting after last night and decided to postpone our campaign for our candidate to end of the season; earliest. :p ;)

I can't understand one thing. Why are you divided into camps. Huntelaar, Berbatov, Tevez , Rooney ......

We all are Man Utd fans. Yes, maybe I am the biggest Berbatov fan here. But I also like all of the other stated players. All of them are among the best players in the world now. Yes, we are the best team and we have to win with brilliance ( not only to win) . There are too few current players that can give this brilliance to the game. (Ronaldinho / unfortunately he lost it :( / , Cristiano Ronaldo and Berbatov) Maybe many people won't agree with this , but just see how many players can give such a killer passes with the outside part, dribble , control the ball, score ....

If there is a player that can play like Ronaldihno and Cristiono - this is Berbatov. This is the reason for many coaches and specialists to make Cantona's comparison.

And the best coach /Sir Alex / paid 30 m. This is the best proof. Just be Man Utd fans and don't make any camps :)

I'm sorry mate but your ravings about Berbatov make no footballing sense to me. As someone said earlier, maybe you have some other agendas with his signing. Berbatov has nothing to prove to you. He is a Manchester United footballer who is trying to do his best for his club his team mates and the fans.

Oh no, not to worry at all. All these 'camps' are just for banter and also the result of different preferences and opinions of who and what is good for the club. Nothing material in itself. At the end of the day, for example, I still have to cheer for Ronaldo. :D ;)

    Ditto, Davey mate!

It should be interesting to see if peer pressure from wazza and tev, who both work their butts off, may just force him to increase his work rate. SAF may have a bit of an influence too, don't you think?

I was always in favour of getting him - but he is very frustrating to watch sometimes.

I believe this is the full text for the other thread on Berba not celebrating..

    guardian

Berbatov still not smiling despite breaking his duck for United

The Bulgarian knows there is room for improvement after a £30m move from Spurs............

Presumably, in the future, Dimitar Berbatov will look a lot happier when he has scored for Manchester United. His celebrations were muted, to say the least, in the 3-0 Champions League defeat of Aalborg in Denmark on Tuesday, when his body language was far from what might have been expected of a striker who had just broken his duck for his new club. "I was angry," the Bulgarian said yesterday.

If United's supporters did not already realise it, they will quickly have to learn that the club's £30.75m new signing can be a difficult man to read. The former Tottenham Hotspur player barely mustered a smile when he lashed in his first goal and there was little more than a sheepish grin for the second.

Nobody, however, should confuse his restrain with indifference. Berbatov was simply ruminating on his "embarrassment" that he had not scored earlier in the game when he was presented with an open goal after Cristiano Ronaldo had got in the way of an attempted clearance by the Aalborg goalkeeper.

"I was relieved, obviously," said Berbatov, reflecting on his first goals for Sir Alex Ferguson's team. "But I didn't celebrate because, first of all, I was disappointed to miss my first chance.

"Sometimes you get only one chance in these games and, for a guy who has been bought for all this money, I really have to take these chances. So that is why I was angry. I was frustrated about what I had done. I got the shot all wrong and I was embarrassed. I just kept trying and, of course, in the end I scored two goals. But I'm still angry and disappointed with myself because of the first one I missed."

It was the kind of slack finishing that smacked of a player with confidence issues after two disappointing and one mixed performance in his only other games for the Premier League and Champions League holders. Yet Berbatov's first two goals should soothe his self-belief and, as Ferguson pointed out, there is another topic to address when considering his inability to make a more immediate impact - namely that the rest of the team have to learn how to play with him, too.

Berbatov is not a slouch, but he is not particularly quick either, and there have been too many times over the last few weeks when other players in red have tried to set him running clear rather than playing it into his feet.

"The players need to understand just how good he is in terms of his ability to lead the line," said Ferguson. "They have to realise they don't need to pass to him in space all the time. They can pass to him when he's marked, because he's brilliant at that. His touch is fantastic at times. And the more we learn about him, the better we'll get."

The way Ferguson talks gives the firm impression that Berbatov is now very much his first-choice striker. Further evidence comes from the fact that Carlos Tevez (twice) and Wayne Rooney (once) have already been demoted to a place among the substitutes to accommodate the 27-year-old. Berbatov, it is fair to say, has still to produce his best form for his new club and the paradox is that he was United's least effective player in the first half against Aalborg. Yet there are signs of him growing into the role.

"There is pressure on me but it is always there and I hope I can deal with that," said Berbatov. "If I am not happy here, I cannot be happy anywhere." The forward spoke with the air of someone who was still coming to terms with the fact that a club of United's stature should be so dedicated to recruiting him from Tottenham Hotspur. It was a mixture of wonder and gratitude but, most of all, contentment.

"I heard Ryan Giggs say once that he had been here from the beginning and never wanted to be anywhere else," he continued. "And it's exactly as Ryan Giggs said - I am here now and I don't want to go anywhere else. I am the happiest guy. I find myself sitting at home sometimes, thinking: 'Hey, I am a Manchester United player, can you believe it?' It is a wonderful thing."

the guy to be fair is improving every game...and it was gr8 to see wazza get a close up screaming at berba to " push up" !!!!!! when the goalie and defenders were ****ing around with the ball to put pressure on them. i dont care if he misses sitters a la andy cole , coz no one can argue that cole scored at lot of goals despite the ones he missed- id be pleased if his goal ratio turned out anywhere as near as his.

i agree with the beginning of your post, but afterwards it becomes really biased...how about the likes of messi, iniesta, cesc, van persie, xavi, tevez( his killer passes), even del piero who is a joy to watch even at his age...torres....
to put berbatov up there with ronaldo on the piedestal is ....well...not realistic....
as for sir alex paying 30 mill for him - need i remind you on the likes of veron, shevchenko and other player who turned out to be overpaid...
even 18 million for carrick is too much imo - but that's another story....

i got it all wrong ?
    ermmm - i don't think so-
look at the big picture - i was commenting the match like everyone - most of you from "berbatov camp" were quiet because your "fans favourite" was absolutely terrible through the first half -some of you even put a post how he really was awful
others were calling for fergie to introduce tevez instead of him , and if you look closely you'll see i even warned abo about his slating using the words "stop it abo , he's not THAT bad"
one more thing i wanted to add - i said to rfr that i knew that as soon as he scores he would be praised as the world's best player, and that there would be posts like "what a magnificient match, absolutely world class" and i was right...some of you even comapare him to ronaldo, ahead of messi etc...
and the fact of the matter is - that he scored one after a terrible defensive blunder and the other was after the ball was served on his plate....and let me tell you this much - it's ok for some of you (not you jazz, you've always been very kind and top poster ) to publicaly slate nani and no one is attacking you but when someone dares to say anything against the fans favourite then he gets the all abuse in the world...but i guess that has to do with the fact that portuguese are not amoung the favourites in england...nani,fletcher,o'shea - it's ok to slate them , but when it comes to berbatov then it's not ?!

having said that - in order to keep peace on this place , because with all this slating i am getting after the player , who i really have nothing against, but the situation , or should i say the abuse am getting , has led me to really begin to dislike the player, i will restrict myself from posting on this forum for some time....because if i continue i feel that i might get permanently banned...because when someone insults me i'll try everything to multiply the insult and i'm affraid this is heading in excactly that direction ( this is not aimed at you jazz )
it's really been a pleasure to discuss with the most of you ofr ybout the year but some of the recent glory hunters have really knocked me off my peerch and I don't need this in my life...
    thank you and goodbye

Question : Position on the pitch? Answer: Central Forward

This means that his place is in the penalty area or near it. So it is very difficult to take the ball / just because it is full of defenders there /. Central forwards /like RVN / touch the ball not more than 4-5 time per game. Their job is to score them. I have seen a lot of games in which RVN touch the for the first time after 50-60 minutes of play, and score 1-2 goals. I don't think Berbatov is a typical center forward (like RVN) , but you just want this from him. Yes he played bad but this is just because the miss (not his overall play) . So i guess that he will be playing bad in every half when he doesn't score. I am not sure you know what position Berbatov is playing at.

    Just check google about positions.

P.S Yes, I am maybe biased .... but I also know how many games RNV have been just walking near the penalty area. This is just because he is CF , not because he is lazy or he isn't good player.

I will continue arguing when his teammates start giving him more than 1 good ball per game. Vs Aalborg they gave him just 1 good ball /for his secong goal/ . He also gave one to his teammates. And just 1 good high ball for 4 games. This is not enough at all.

why are people coming out with your in the berbatov camp or rooney or tevez its bloody nonsense i am in the utd camp , i like all these players and enjoy watching them i am sticking up for berbatov because i know he's a damn good footballer and certain people are condemning him before he has had any chance , this make's me angry.
also i do not think rooney and tevez are a great partnership with the correct partner both these players will give so much more ,berbatov could be the spark or manucho could be the spark ,lets give everybody a chance and support them all the way.but our current strike duo do not score enough goals to keep us on top of the pile ,just look at other top clubs their strikers seem to score quite a few more.

Honest advice, why don't you worry about it when you get to that bridge?

You have every right to argue your point of view and if anybody starts insulting, we'll help keep it civilized.

even though I don't 100% with all the things you;ve said about berba and the way you said, I do agree in a lot of it. Maybe your delivery is a bit too strong sometimes, but I love it that you say what you think and defend them. Even when a lot of others don't agree and slate your opinion.

We don't need more sheep :)

having said that, maybe you can be more tactful in your assertions sometimes. It might get more tactful responses. Just a suggestion. ;)

These 'camps' are just a laugh between some of the regular members.
I dont see why people are making a big deal of it
There was the Berbatov camp and the Huntelaar camp BEFORE we made
any signings this summer. Some wanted Hunt and some Berba. Thats ALL there is
to it lads. We all have different opinions and we need to respect that and eachother.

Crooney mate. Dont go cos of this. You have always been entitled to your opinion
and we respect that. Your a great guy and a great member so dont leave us for too long ;)

I was one of the people i criticized when berba did nothing in his first two games and in bolton played a small part. But the criticism was that if berba is having a bad day it doesnt mean he has to lazy around the pitch, feel useless to the team and just stick your leg out for 50/50 challanges. Berba needs to learn that he aint gonna play good in every game, but berba still has to try for the team and not be someone who cant be arsed because its not going his way.

When he got his goal in the last game, berba was inspired to show us his ability. Berba needs to learn from nani, ronaldo, anderson ect, that if things aint going right, touch isnt coming off, it doesnt mean that he is not gong to play well for 90 mins.

He needs to stop acting like a kid, thats the criticism, i think thats what a lot of people are p'ed off about. Let me put it this way, people are paying good money to watch berba play, he gets payed £80000/£90000 a week. ****ing grow up.
