Quote from a few of my mates saying City will be the best ever now, my mornings been hell, aguero has been said at least a 100 times. Discuss.
No - We had this with Arsenal a few years a go , Chelsea when they were spending all that cash, its now City but it wont last for ever
Chelsea said the same thing not so long ago. Defending the league title is a very difficult thing to do. Every team will want to beat City as champions next season. We will be stronger due to having players back and new signings that are undoubtedly forthcoming. They won it on goal difference with the last kick of the season and will need to step it up even further next season if they're to keep the title. Let them enjoy their moment but leave them in no doubt that United will respond to the challenge. We've never shirked a challenge and certainly won't do so now. As fergie said yesterday when asked about his personal motivation to regain the league, 'they know I'm not going away'.
Not going to happen. It will most probably take them another 44 years to win again. Plus I am sure Liverpool said its their year next?
not as long as Fergie is at the helm I would believe..... also as the popular words go in - it is hard to reach the peak and even more harder to stay there.... if Arsenal will be remembered for the invincibles season, City will be remembered for this last minute title victory ..thats all...
They were extremely lucky with injuries this season, they only lost their key players to red cards - I'm hoping that won't happen again next season. As said above, everyone will want to beat the Champions as well so hopefully they will find it a lot harder next season. But we need some quality signings to make sure we are up there again next season.
Let all the ABU cunts talk because we'll jam all these words down their mouths and make them choke to death.
The internet reaction to United losing the title in injury time is amusing to witness. Once again so many predict the end of United as a force, as their wishful thinking runs away with them. It's amazing the way fans of so many clubs celebrate any United setback as if their own team had just won a trophy. There's a lot of bitterness and envy around. We'll be ready come the new season to prove them all wrong yet again.
Shows how naive and new to this they are. What about this title win suggests domination for years to come? They hardly ran away with it. Fair play, they won it this year - well done to them. But they will have the shock of their lives in the coming seasons if they think they will win it all.
I agree with all the above - let them enjoy their 15 minutes of fame it wont last long. Anyone suggesting that United's 'time is over' is a total an utter tool. They must not have been watching the Premier League for the last decade or two!
Oh, and as for City taking over, what if Sheikh Mansoor decides to sell up? They can only achieve things for as long as he sticks around. Their foundations of success are far less deep than ours.
When the Arsenal Invincibles reached 90 points they were supassed by Chelsea the following season when they got 95 points. Then Chelsea won the title again the following year on 91 points. When Chelsea did that everyone said that they had set the bar so high that United would not be able to respond and Chelsea would go on to dominate for the next decade. We responded by winning 4 titles to Chelsea's 1 in the next 5 years. City have just beaten us to the league title by 8 goals. Pfft, they've barely raised the bar an inch.
Let the glory hunters enjoy it, they wont be winning it again. The only positive from it is they are level with Blackburn on PL titles, like Blackburn I dont think they will dominate English football like United have.
Exactly right. People will seize any opportunity to death ride United, and they don't let facts get in the way of those opportunities.
We've been here before, with Chelsea and Arsenal, and even Blackburn when Jack Walker was bank-rolling them. United will endure, but I suspect that we will have to work harder than before to keep City in their place (2nd!). They have more money to chuck around that Chelsea did. I mean, who else, apart from Anzhi, can afford to pay someone £250k a week? I'll be curious to see what happens when the financial fair-play rules come into place though.
