I prefer Messi, but it's really, really close. I don't care how mant they score, they don't play in the Premiership and I'll only worry about them if we draw them in the CL. They're still off Ronaldo's and Zidane's level, but catching up......still miles off the likes of Cruyff, Pelé, Maradona and di Stefano yet though.
They will get there, and surpass them, by the time their career's are over. Both will probably hit 50 goals this season. Messi edges it for me.
Messi might edge it, but i would like to have Ronaldo in my team every day of the week as he has proved in this league.
Ronaldo via being more dynamic, and better at every element of football sans close-control, also the ability to carry a team on his back, which Messi has never done.
Both are fantastic players and it is really hard to say who is the best. But I am going to have to say Ronaldo. Because he has proved himself in the toughest league in the world.
To me, Messi has more talent while Ronaldo is probably more effective because of his physical attributes (height, power) so really I'm inconclusive.

That helps for sure. You think 40 odd a season is normal? Saying that, it's not just the goals, the two lads are f*cking unbelievable players. Simple as that. I've seen the likes of Maradona and Zidane in their pomp and these two will be up there with these two by the end of their careers. It's inevitable.
Ronaldo over Messi for me, probably influenced by the fact he played for us but also because i believe he offers more.
c'mon now abo, calm yourself! Messi scored his 150th goal for Barcelona tonight. Both are on about 20 for the season. Not sure exactly how many. (will find out) Ronaldo 52 goals in 54 matches since moving to Madrid. In the same time Messi has played 71 matches scoring 70 goals. :/ They are talking about them on SS2 at the moment. Glenn Hoddle, Venables and Souness ALL say Messi is better.
One thing I'll say is that Ronaldo's reputation for feigning injury/ diving etc haven't helped him in that respect. A lot of pundits, especially those based in England and having played/ supported rival teams have an slight agenda against Ronaldo.
It's Ronaldo for me, He's a much more complete player then Messi for me.He is an absolute monster physically, a rocket, an animal in the air has two good feet equally good with his left as he is with his right, he's prolific,good dribbler as a good touch can hit a great free kick and penalty has skill in abundance and WHEN he crosses he can put in a very good ball most of the time He has also carried teams single handaley more then Messi, I mean Messi has always had more talented and creative players around him then Ronaldo up untill this season at Real Madrid really,While Romnaldo was feeding of scraps from players like Carrick and Fletcher(great worker but not creative enough) Messi has been getting fed by Xavi Inestia Ronaldinho Henry Deco just to name a few and Ronaldo has never really had that service both with club and country.He has also done the business in both the premiership and La Liga something that Messi might struggle to do I think if you put all there attributes together and rate them out of 10 each Ronaldo would have a higher rating then Messi One thing is for sure though as much as i dislike Messi,we're priveliged to see both players playing at the same time aswell as they are with both having a considerably time left at the top. I have no doubts when they both finish up they will be considered as two of the finest players to have played the game
messi As much as i love ronaldo for all that he did for united, i feel messi edges it, hes down to earth and very likeable....on the other hand, ronaldo is turning more and more into the carbon copy of michael jackson! yes, mikey.....too celf centred and that drama with his b oy seemed too wieerd for my liking! still...cr7 forever
