For all the talk and speculation on his replacement it kind of passed me by a little bit that he was actually leaving. It's hitting home now and the final will be very emotional especially if we win.
My feeling is that De Gea will be his replacement. Gill said they know who their man is, and there will be no overlap between old and new No.1, so I'm happy enough they've made absolutely sure they are making right choice whether it actually is De Gea or not.

He was displaced because he got injured and another keeper came in, he's always been the top keeper there though.

Like it's been said it's very risky to have Lindegaard, Amos and De Gea as our keepers, there's not enough experience there for my liking.

Lindegaard will be the most experienced (in terms of age) if De Gea is signed..

No he wasn't, I used to be an avid follower of the Eredivisie because of the large Mexican contingent out there, he was **** and was criticized a bit, he did improve a lot though tbf.

Im still sticking to my claim that age aside De Gea is by far the better keeper, not only that but he will improve a lot more if he came here than Stekelenburg.

I'm with you. He really is the only man on the market to fill VDS shoes, the same way VDS was the only one that really should've taken over from Schmeichel. If we don't sign him we are taking a risk on the others.

If we're really being anal.... Yes, Dad.

Also, Buffon would be great short term but the thing is, we would be back in this situation in a few years time. At the moment there is a wealth of young, talented goalkeepers that currently don't play for Europe's elite, we might not be so lucky in a few years.

I agree, Gigi would be my logical choice, we could get five or so years out of him, and get a younger player ready in the meantime. I mean Lindegaard may well prove to be the long term answer.

so in conclusion we sign robert green for 2 mill from west hams fire sale and blow the rest on luring ronnie back from real.

We should have a fantasy transfers league with an imaginary budget. Do you spuff 25 mill on a keeper and only have a few quid left for the creative mid ?

Or do you buy wesley s in the sales and try and get gigi to adapt to manchester.

De Gea was done and dusted over a month ago and it will be announced first couple of days in july
