Robin Van Persie, Leighton Baines, Moussa Dembele, Lucas and even Usain Bolt! But with the stupid money being quoted for Lucas and the fact Wenger would rather drink a pint of diahorrea than sell Arsenal's best player to Fergie, and do we really expect additions? Also the tentative steps that Darren Fletcher is making towards recovery suggest to me that Sir Alex may just be readying the "I'm happy with the squad / no value in the market" proclamation.
Yep, agree 100%. I think thats the end of our transfer business too. We witnessed in our Europa league humiliation some cracking players that would be great buys for us...and cheaper than hazard and Lucas too, we also know a quality midfielder is available for a season long loan ( adepartment we all agree is our weakest point) and you can just hear it now - ''Due to the lack of value in todays transfer market we have concluded our business this transfer window''
kagawa, in and settled powell, young and ready to go scholes, signed giggs, signed carrick, on form after last season anderson, fit and ready to go cleverley, had a good olympics tunnicliffe, one to watch fletcher, training valencia, no comment nani, no comment young, ready to go bebe, fingers crossed lingard, looked lovely in pre-season not bad if business is closed... which i personally believe it is with all this true olympic spirit around, and people working themselves to the bone for years to achieve their goals, does anyone else get continually disgusted by clubs, including ours, thinking that a 25m cheque is the 'real' way to success? the last 10 days have genuinely made football look vulgar, crass, and unappealing
I think t isn't done but I wouldn't be unhappy if it was. We have lots of young players plus the ending of last season will fuel them all
I think it is £40m. I know CM has been the weakest part of our team, but I'd rather see youngsters get some games. I'm happy with the current squad TBH.
I'm unsure. I'm beginning to think that the money we are led to believe we have to spend on players isn't available. Having our name linked to possible signings which Fergie has confirmed interest in suggest we have the money, but without any big spend outs where is the evidence?
The cynic in me says it's done, the optimist in me says it's done. But on a serious note, judging by the last few seasons i'd say it is all but done. It just has that feeling a feeling we are all to use to now. That feeling of losing out on a transfer saga for a 'big player', injured players coming back into the team etc. Just seems all to familiar. Not massively fussed actually, although i'd kill for one more midfielder.
"We are giving guidance at the moment that the current transfer period could result in net expenditure nearer £40million." The OP assumed we have £20 million left after the purchase of Kagawa and Powell. But that is not the case. We still have £40 million left.
