Took me a while to get round to watching this but man, I'm glad that I downloaded all three seasons. I literally have literally been crying with laughter at times. . . Anybody else rate this show highly?

I watched the first series and thought it was hilarious. Wasn't so keen on the second and lost interest in it tbh.

The first series was epic, so ridiculously funny. 2nd series was great too but haven't seen any of the 3rd series yet but yeh spoon I find it extremely funny.

    Kenny Powers FTW!

2nd series dipped a bit but the third is just as good as the first.

    Kenny Powers is a legend!!!

Have read that seasons 1 and 2 are great but not so much the second, but have yet to check it out. It's on the to-do list.

Might give the second another look. Where is the third based?

Season 3 definitely got back to the greatness of season 1.

Season 2 had flashes of brilliance but nothing sustained like like first and last.

    You're f**king out!

Yeah, season two was a little too far removed from the original premise (I feel that they ended the whole Kenny Powers: schoolteacher angle too soon) but still had it's moments. Such as Stevie finding Kenny and then Kenny getting him shitfaced then putting him on a truck of Mexican border-jumpers to get rid of him. . . Oh and Aaron the angry Bombay dwarf of course.

I don't think I have laughed so hard as the papoose line in the second episode after he opened the backpack and Jerry saw the baby.

Yeah, the "You're Goose. I'm Tom Cruise" schtick between Shane and Kenny was hilarious, especially the climax where Kenny proclaimed "Shane's dead which obviously means that he's Goose and I'm Tom Cruise."

That was classic. There were quite a few laugh out loud moments in the show though.

That is equal to anything that Gervais and Merchant have ever witten in terms of cringeworthiness.

I wasn't surprised when reading in an interview Danny McBride mentioning the likes of The Office, Fawlty Towers and Alan Partridge as inspiration for Eastbound & Down. Alan Partridge is probably my favourite comedy character of all-time and when you take away the cultural differences in the characters there are so many parallels. Kenny Powers is like the American Partridge. Both has-beens that are looking to get back in the game. Both seem unaware of how idiotic people view them as. Both have an inflated ego and arrogance regarding how great they are. Both forced to swallow their pride on a regular basis. Both have assistants that they verbally berate daily and both have caused embarrassment at a funeral.
