Funny how 1 failed trick has convinced people he's gonna flop in England. He just won't.

    Ashley Young is better.

He won't be a successful signing.

    5 assists, Chelsea's best player.

He does look good, but you have to take into consideration that it's been against Wigan (where he didn't look all that good after 20 mi, mind) and Reading. Two strong candidates for the bottom segment of the league. Jury is still out for me, at least until they face some proper teams.

He's shite, over-rated. Not worth that money. Only ever played in Ligue 1. Glad he joined Chelsea.

Winning a penalty only counts as an assist on FF, so he's only technically got 3, but a top player anyway.

How old are you? At the moment you are the one helping add to overrating him. He's played well in his first 2 games, no one has said he hasn't but it's been 2 games against Wigan and Reading (who are a Championship side) and his 5 "assist" have been a bit weak to say the least.

If not for an offside goal Chelsea would of drew 2-2 at home to Reading, with the only real significant moment by Hazard being the winning of the penalty.

    Perspective.

Ashley Young assist 2 Rooney freekicks, "not a real assist". Eden Hazard plays a simple ball to Gary Cahill for a 30 yard shot, "awesome assist!". Is that it?

I never said Young was better, I said he was more proven, which he still is and until Hazard goes through an entire season and playing well against the big teams that won't change.

    Exactly what I was saying..
Yet when I said he was only proven in Ligue 1, people became offended.

Going back to yesterday when someone said Hazard was the player we needed to scare other teams again, who would you guys rather have? Hazard or RVP?

Hazard has won a league title and domestic cup, played in both European competitions, won two POTY titles (as well as two YPOTY) and also has more international caps than Young. All Young has to his name is a Community Shield and small European experience.

Young is older and has played more games. He's English so has an easier chance to play in the Premier League. None of this equates to him being more proven though.

That was me who said that. It's a no brainer, Hazard all day long. Strikers were never the problem for us. Hazard IMO would of definitely been that player we have been missing for so long. At Chelsea now though and I'm still happy with Kags and Van Persie.

He's proven in the Premier league though, which is what counts when you know..a premier league team buys a player who hasn't played in the EPL before. No one is saying Hazard is a bad player, but if you want certainty in your transfers over taking a risk, it's best to go for a player like Young. The majority of foreign players do seem to shine here (just look at how it has paid of for Newcastle) But it isn't always so good.

Hazard may have played more international games, but he has only scored 2 goals [Wiki] Young has played a few less, but has 6 goals - which is what you failed to mention. Hazard has 8 assists though (Over 29 games).

To clarify, you think adding Hazard to the squad would scare teams more than adding RVP?

This is the attitude that inflates English players prices. I don't care what you or Flash say you don't get voted the best player in Ligue 1 two years running without having something about you. It's just as easy for a domestic player to flop than it is for foreign players.

If anyone has seriously seen both players play and would still pick Young for their side because he's "more proven" they need their head checked. Young is such an incredibly robotic and average player.

Young has won PFA YPOTY and been in the Premeir League TOTY twice too. Hazard has 3 more international caps while Young has 4 more international goals.

    Here's a game for you - http://www.sporcle.com/games/roberto_carlos/barclays-premier-league-most-assists-of-all-time

Hint: Ashley Young is number 10. That is an amazing achievement!

The Premier League is a higher level than Ligue 1, so therefore Young is more proven.

You can only play against what's in front of you. Wigan and Reading might not be the toughest opposition he'll ever face. But he has produced in his first two games, which is all that can be asked of him. 5 assists, regardless of the circumstances they came from, is an impressive stat. Chelsea could easily have lost or drawn both of those games if he hadn't won those penalties and provided those other assists. So, already, he is proving to be a difference maker. He will only get better with time, when he settles in. It's clear that we lost out on a potential world class footballer. I'm more than happy with Kagawa but still disappointed that Chelsea signed him and his brother, who also has a lot of potential.

Hazard, Silva, Mata, Kagawa, etc are all proving that technically gifted player from Europe's other top leagues can easily adjust to life in England and The Premier League.

I like Young, he's much better than 90% of people give him credit for. But Hazard is in a different league and has time to improve even further. He's 21. Young wasn't half as good at the same age.
