Well, I will encounter them sooner or later, but I prefer it to be later, as I don't have sufficient equipments to deal with such creatures. Giants can be taken by ordinary weapons, but I don't think such things can be defeated in that way. I'm off to fight a Ice Wraith for the Stormcloaks, and I got no clue how to kill it.
I take down Giants with one dual wield power attack. I've only come across about four Giants. I'm going to start a new character later. A mage type.
I took the giant I killed by arrows, I'd hit him from a high place, then when he comes closer I run like a bitch, then go back to the same spot and hit him with arrows. The Mammoth was smarter, he'd follow me all the way and hit me, so I fought him with fire. Killed an Ice-Wraith with fire, fighting him with weapons is retarded and I'm such an idiot to fight him with two swords the first time and a hume hammer the 2nd time. (Saw a youtube video saying that the best way to fight him is two handed weapon)
My Archery skill is down to 15 from 28. I check the current effects and nothing is said about it, and I went to Talos' temple and it didn't help. I hope this isn't permanent as bows and arrows are one of my 3 main weapons.
One word. Fire. Seriously, i struggled with trolls, then read a book in the game that said to use fire, even my basic magic killed a pair of them almost instantly
I used fire, duel handed flame and my destruction level is about 30 and my magica run empty and I only decreased 25% of his health. Other thing I'm struggling against is that huge cat thing, I can beat it but I don't feel like wasting many potions. And I can't run away from it, **** is so ******* fast.
With the trolls, if your still struggling your best bet is a fire scroll from any mage store, with the cat, you really need the animal alliegance shout at earlier levels, that or find a rock thats hard to jump up to and hope for the best... The cats are a lot easier to kill when your higher level, you could use a frozen shout to freeze it solid, or something, should really be trying to gather the early shouts now anyway, look up a guide online for where the best ones are located... Most helpful shouts are the Ethereal one (lets you jump off cliffs and waterfalls for quick escape) the Animal Allegiance one (lets you get animals on your side) the one that kills part of any enemies armour and defence (very helpful later) and the standard fire/ice ones Going to guess your doing the huge mountain walk in the main quest?
have you got things like apprentice/adept destruction so it uses less magicka? and what about intense flames (or whatever its called)
Hop on your camel and run awkwardly up those 10,000 steps. If anyone tries to give you **** conjure water onto your turban and whip them with it. Critical Hit!
Also seems you've made it harder on yourself by picking Nord, awful class unless your prone to just swinging an axe at everything
Cheers for that, gonna try a scroll on the troll. Can I use shouts at lower levels? I'm level 9 now, I do have a shout which I cannot use, as I'm yet to find a dragon. Nah, I was just walking from Windhelm to Riften to kill the meen old lady at the orphanage. I got the perk that makes flame use less magicka. Intense flame, I don't have yet, tho I have 3 perks left to use and I might use it. Ugh I went to another temple and my archery skill is down, could it be a bug?
I didn't even complete the main storyline with my first character. An Imperial. I did most of the side quests and guild quests. I started again with a new character last night. I'm now a Dark Elf. I'm a boss at archery and destruction magic already. They'll be my two main weapons. I've never been a mage type character before, so it sort of makes the game fresh. I always become a master of sneak with every class though. Sneak attacks are the way to go.
I also started with an Imperial and went 2h warrior heavy armor until lvl 25 until I realized how fun sneaking around was and i'm planning on re-rolling a sneaky SOB. The quest you're doing Abo to kill the mean old lady in riften is awesome
Your archery could be brought down by a number of things... Weapons wear out over time, you could have unequipped some items that enhance your archery (most probable), there could be one of the blessing stones that grants better archery etc, no need to be high level to use shouts either, there will be plenty of dragons roaming around, easiest tip for them is to lead them towards a nearby town and let the enemy soliders take the flak
