The only brillant thing about this event was the great support Fabrice has received from football fans clubs and players throughout the world. It's been really nice to see

The latest news is certainly encouraging and hopefully he'll continue to improve further each hour.

Bolton's next Premier League game at Aston Villa on Tuesday has been postponed.

    Also

Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean also said the club would "do whatever we have to do", and would be happy for Saturday's scheduled Premier League match against Bolton to be called off.

If that's confirmed then it's fantastic news. Might even be home by the weekend if it is the case. Although he will need an entire battery of tests to see when, and even if he can play again. But at least he's come round.

It's not very important at the moment but I doubt he will ever play again. With the little I know of cardiac arrests he is lucky to be alive, and most, if not all doctors will advise him never to play again. Of course the most important thing is he gets back to full health and I'm sure there will be some future for him in football, possibly similar to Ruben de la Red.

Both Emmanuel Adebayor and Michael Essien have visited him and said he is speaking to them in French and English.

Yup, there is also another player it happened to:
BBC Sport - Fabrice Muamba offered hope by Clarke survival story

What makes it even more worrying is they still haven't found the cause for of Clive Clarke's cardiac arrest.

This whole thing reminds me a lot of Jiri Fischer who was a promising young hockey player for my local team. He had a heart attack on the bench and had similar problems to Muamba. He never played again, but the Red Wings gave him a job within the organization and he goes around to children's hospitals and stuff like that. I really hope if Muamba can't play again, which is overwhelmingly likely, Bolton takes care of him in a similar way.

The most important thing is simply that he "beats the widow-maker"! It don't matter what anyone had planned for him, there has to be life to graft it onto. When there is life, there is hope...

Glad to see Muamba is improving, showing some good signs that he is on the road to recovery by speaking to his family and acknowledging them.

I don't know if he will ever play football again, it all depends on circumstances.

Ah, so that's what happened to him - I wondered why he'd vanished off the Red Wings' roster.

Fabrice is "off the critical list" but is still "seriously" ill.

Apparently he was studying to be a doctor. So has something else to do, if that does happen.

He will be happy that he´s still alive. It doesnt matter if he can´t play again.

Has Cassano fully recovered yet btw?

Well hopefully he makes a full recovery like Jiri did.

Bolton could make him their team doctor or a physio or something.

he's back in training. Think he's just keeping fit atm though, not training with the team, doesn't he have to wait 6 months before plaaying any kind of sport again?
