I have dreaded the day Fergie retires for as long as I can remember. If his health really is becoming an issue, then we can't fault him if this is to be taken seriously. One thing for sure, it will be a tearful day :(

Sorry if this has already been posted somewhere. The article is 9hrs old and I find it odd nobody has picked up on it yet.

Ferguson will die in the dugout. That's the only way he's ever leaving the club.

Even when the dreaded day comes, Fergie will always live on in this club. Fergie is Manchester United.

Just hope he stays active at the club because a complete retirement would be even worse for his health.

The day Fergie retires it will be a very sad day for Manchester United, imagine a United game without Fergie in the dugout.

This was inevitable. Terrible to hear it's a health issue. If so, we should make sure he stays in the best of health for his sake and his family. He's done everything a manager could ever dream of and his legacy is forever embedded in United history.

Just hoping we win at least one more European Cup before he calls it a day.

It would be one crazy world if we took everything Dave Whelan said seriously. Media whore and idiot.

I can see him staying here for three more years then calling it a time, if he only plans one more year currently with Pep Guardiola a free agent i would expect us to sign him up now and fergie to step down honourably to the back room staff as he knows managers of his quality don't come around very often and wouldnt want us to miss out.

The way I read this it looks like predictive statement not something SAF mentioned to him in private. The thing is every media whore itches to be the one that called every major event in the world from the subprime meltdown to Fergie's retirement. I don't think even SAF knows when he'll be done,I suspect Fergie will retire after an event(like winning the Champions League) rather than a timeline.

Yeah mate, was posted on these forums he had a nosebleed or something. Nothing too serious, although at old age (no disrespect intended), you can never take these things for granted.

I have no doubt we have made plans for his retirement. I have no doubt, those plans will fail. You can't replace him.
