Sir Alex Ferguson has issued a video message to Manchester United season ticket holders restating the club's desire to regain their Premier League title - but warning of further last-gasp drama in the years to come.

After so many famous final-day successes, this season the boot was on the other foot. When United concluded their final game at Sunderland, they were technically champions, only to be flattened by Sergio Aguero's late strike at the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City struck twice in stoppage time to end their 44-year wait for the championship.

However, now the dust has settled, Ferguson feels it is just another chapter in United's compelling story - a point he has made to keep fans within the Red Devils' season ticket fold. "When you look back on last season, it tells you the story of Manchester United," he said. "There is no club in the world who can create the drama that we created last year."

He went on to say: "Okay, it didn't work out our way this time but when you go back through the years and the number of times we have scored last minute goals it just added to the excitement and drama of Manchester United.

"It will always be there because that is the kind of club we are.

"When you are buying your season ticket you are guaranteed: 1) A possible heart attack. 2) Incredible excitement in the last minute of games. 3) Hope that we win the championship back."
United have missed out on one transfer target already this summer after Eden Hazard snubbed the lure of Old Trafford and elected to join Chelsea.

However, the Red Devils are hoping to secure the services of Borussia Dortmund's Japanese midfielder Shinji Kagawa, with officials from the German champions confirming talks are at an advanced stage.

Season ticket sales must not be very good this year.

Desperate is the right word indeed TM

Clear as crystal to market season tickets than a genuine reassurance to the fans. Sham and shame.

Oh, btw we really can do without a "heart attack", thanks, if we could be more steadfast or conquering.

Don't worry because I'm sure he'll drag another two seasons out of Giggs to make up for failing to sign anyone. And Fletcher might possibly even be well enough to run around for a bit.

Anyway, we only lost on goal difference

Optimism? Sorry, I'm fresh out at the moment.

glazer pupper doesn't do this man justice anymore

"When you look back on last season, it tells you the story of Manchester United," he said. "There is no club in the world who can create the drama that we created last year."

jesus it wasn't exactly the treble season was it ? how come he never mentioned his inept team selection for the derby ? how come he never mentioned us totally collapsing against everton and blowing the league there and then, how come he never mentioned his piss poor selection home to blackburn ? with his shit squad that he backs so much....

fergie gill and the glazers suit each other these days, im surprised he didn't just repeat his famous "if you don't like it go and support chelsea" rant.

I find that putting on blinkers and repeating the mantras that Fergie knows best, no one can get as much out of average players than he and that considering how much Chiteh have been spending we're doing really well helps

 @ getting Fergie to do it because everybody loves Fergie and they're more likely to listen to him as opposed to Gill or one of the Glazers.

Pretty standard season ticket sale tactic. Most clubs around the world have a managers war cry when it comes to season ticket time.

The spiel that is given is f**king cringeworthy though. Last season tells the story of United? What throwing away the league title?

You forgot how he said "it's time to rethink how we approach european matches" after the first fiasco with Bilbao, and week later, what team does he put out for the 2nd match? That's right - predictable formation with oldies and slowies(Giggs, Carrick, Park), against a team of kids that play their heart out(unlike us last season)...

Whether its fergie or not the fact its recorded is lame, i dont expect fergie to call all "600m" of our fans but its a dire attempt.
