The new features for FIFA 12 have been announced...

Vision attribute - players with who are less aware of passing opportunities around them have a smaller 'vision map' and will need to take more touches of the ball before becoming fully aware of their surroundings. Players with the most awareness will even be able to spot potential free men stood behind them.

Team adjusts to your virtual pro's strengths - depending on which areas you decide to strengthen your pro your teammates will adapt to suit your style of play e.g. improve an attackers heading stats and teammates will attempt more crosses into the box.

Change to block tackling - 'press' has been replaced with 'contain', which means players will keep at a distance and will have to time block tackles correctly to win the ball.

More realistic injuries - the impact engine has been changed so that flying in with slide tackles to players running at pace is more likely to result in injuries. Overuse of the sprint function can result in tired limbs leading to injuries. Also, returning a player to the team too soon after injury can lead to them getting reinjured if heavy contact is made with the same limb (extra animations have been added for players throwing a hissy fit at the manager for playing them when unfit!).

Tweak to 360 dribbling - a 3rd pace has been added to accompany jog and sprint, which allows players to precision dribble. At this pace you are also able you to hold off opponents so you can hold up the ball outside the penalty area and wait for teammates to join you.

Pro player intelligence - adapting your formation and tactics depending on who you are playing against will be more important e.g. do you need to play a holding midfield player? do you need tall centre-backs to cope with an aerial threat? etc

I hope they have classic teams, or atleast classic players. I'd love to play with out 68 or 99 team. The referee should make mistakes too, as should the linesman.

They didn't have a classic team in 11? Because they had a classic team in 09 and 10.

I think he means for every club Abo as in the scusesful years like have Uniteds team of 1999 as a single team not just players from all over playing for one team

Oh, that'd be awesome. 1999 United versus 1990 Milan.

I don't think FIFA would have our 68 side because they'd only have 1 per team, and we'd have 1999. They wouldn't do it but I'd love to have every team that's ever won the CL.

Hope they havce classic pitches too. Stoke vs Arsenal on a 1950's pitch :D

They need to sort out the effectiveness of fake shots. The defenders fall for it every ******* time!

Giving a injury penalty for constantly sprinting doesn't bode well for me. I rarely take my finger off R2

Meh. They release a new game every year with marginal improvements, indeed they sometimes regress. You're all marks.

I want more benefit of the doubt for fouls and offsides, it breaks up play so much.

And, most importantly, less ******* snowy pitches.

I hope they fix a lot of the bugs. I still play Fifa 11 every now and again, but it didn't really improve that much and there are a good few bugs in the game which are annoying. I know it must be hard for them to improve the game every year when it's essentially the same, but in recent years the games haven't improved much which is disappointing.

All sounds good, apart from the sprinting thing but at least it's more realistic. I feel bad having players sprinting all game because it's not very realistic. Online features don't really interest me because I don't play online very often.

Hopefully these new features actually make a difference, unlike a few of the new ones in the past.

As long as EA actually make sure it's finished before they release it this time. FIFA11 had so many bugs it was ruined. I will need a lot of convincing to get FIFA12 at launch.

    That sounds absolutely awful :(

I like pressing players, I don't want to stand off and try and block the player/pass etc ffs.

I hope they fix offisde so that if a ball is played forward to an offside player and it doesnt reach them but a player infront that the ref blows his whistle everytime, thats annoying.

Also when you score a goal that's offside, they should delay the flag.

Imagine having the 58 team with Duncan Edwards in there. Would love for that to happen

    Berbatov will probably die.

According to the article I read (in official xbox 360 magazine), they are looking at being able to import pros from previous versions of FIFA but it has not been officially announced yet.

Me too, but I also get frustrated by the number of free-kicks you give away when pressing players in FIFA 11.

It will be the same old story. You buy it and love the game at first, then after a few weeks you get bored with it. Happens with every FIFA game with me.

FIFA 09 is the best one made imo. FIFA 10 and 11 and shite, hopefully 12 will be better.
