Hamilton has been disqualified from qualification - Stopping on track and not returning to parc ferme. McLaren said he had insufficient fuel - the stewards said that was their own fault. Pastor Maldonado of Williams now in Pole for the first time in his career.
Right to the back. I'd not heard that rule before - but apparently (without good reason) the car must return to Parc Ferme following qualifying for scrutineering. The stewards said running out of petrol wasn't a good enough excuse.
Article 6.6.2 of the technical regulations: "Competitors must ensure that a one litre sample of fuel may be taken from the car at any time during the event. "Except in cases of force majeure (accepted as such by the stewards of the meeting), if a sample of fuel is required after a practice session the car concerned must have first been driven back to the pits under its own power." The rules on fuel were changed by F1's governing body, the FIA, after a similar problem with Hamilton's car at the 2010 Canadian Grand Prix .
well if he's ben disqualified then i'd say from the pits. Im sure Mclaren have hammered their tyre allocation too regarding Hamilton so that lads looks like scoring single points at best
when Schuey was dq'd from Monaco qualifying for parking his car deliberatly on the final corner (bloody cheat) he had to start from the pit lane. Im suprised Hamilton is allowed on the grid
Great race, this so far. Lap 27 - Maldonado has leapfrogged Alonso in the pits, leading the race again. Why have the Saubers got Chelsea badges on?
a sort of sports link up...basicly its about getting some media exposure for all those concerned. Williams make the Ferrari strategists look like rookies. Big changes needed me thinks...especially if they want a shout at the constructors because theyre not going to do it with Massa in the 2nd Ferrari
In all seriousness I'd like to know, because Sauber don't share any sponsors with Chelsea so it's puzzling.
Ah, thanks. I really hope Maldonado wins, it'll be great to see Williams win again, especially on the week of Sir Frank's 70th.
Well im an Fernando fanboy so im still cheering on for Alonso...though your right it is nice to see a Williams at the front again. Its been too long for a team with such a great history of making classic cars
Ahhh, i wasnt aware that Romans money was involved. I just thought it was a brief sporting link up for exposure
