Oh isn't it lovely to see Red Bull knocked off their perch!!

One question I really wanted to ask is, what are the different effects of tyre compound? I know generally the softs are preferred by most teams - but I have no idea why.

And also why has Schumacher still got his red helmet? Surely Mercedes could sort him out with a silver one.

Could be a return to the doldrums of the early/mid 90's when Alesi and Berger competed to see who could break their car first. F1 more than any other sport is cyclical. Ferrari will rise again. Still got to have the race tomorrow anyway.

Yep, part of me doesnt want to because its going to be humiliating for the team and driver i am rooting for...but ahhhhh the sight of vettel not having the best race car or a huge advantage in qualifying...this is where we see how good he is

    1 J Button McLaren 25
    2 S Vettel Red Bull 18
    3 L Hamilton McLaren 15
    4 M Webber Red Bull 12
    5 F Alonso Ferrari 10
    6 K Kobayashi Sauber 8
    7 K Raikkonen Lotus 6
    8 S Perez Sauber 4
    9 J Vergne Toro Rosso 2
    10 P Di Resta Force India 1

Brilliant result and drive for Button, nice to see Hamilton getting owned and I was quite impressed with Vettel too. Im biased but for me Alonso was the drive of the day...5th with that bitch of a car was quite impressive. Ferrari have serious problems and i cant see them getting anywhere near the front of the grid. Massa...im sorry but he should be nowhere near a team like Ferrari with his form over the last few seasons. I'd drop him now and take a gamble on Rubens, whats the worst that can happen? No points for the second Ferrari car...just like now then.

soft tyres heat up more quickly and give more grip. the downside being that they wear rapidly

great to see jenson mug hamilton at the start. hamilton is such a smug git.

maldonado was going great, unlucky at the death

alonso in a decent car would be romping it,lets see if he has schumis ability to give feedback to engineers to make the ferrari competitive.

Its a shame for Williams because i was hoping they'd finish in 6th, im old enough to remember their glory years and its sad seeing them how they are now. I always like reading interviews with Sir Frank because he is open, honest and one of F1's nice guys so i'd like to see them in the points more for his sake.

Hamilton getting mugged at the start was classic, you just know he is spitting feathers and sulking right now :D

Vettel was lucky with the safety car and wtf was the red bull crew doing trying to slow the McLarens down in the pit?

    Thanks.

Brilliant result for my boy today. Very happy - hope United follow it up with 3 points. Have to say that Vettell's congratulations and demeanour with Jens after the race, was a lot warmer than Lewis'. Could be an interesting situation later in the year if Jens continues to lead the way.

SkySport's coverage was sensational. I miss "The Chain" - but their intro makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. On to Malaysia.

Yeah the BBC have some cracking theme tunes for their sporting programmes...F1 especially. Sky have pretty much nailed F1 with perfect coverage and the F1 channel is up there for me as my most watched channel along with MUTV. I'd also like to thank Sky for not hiring Eddie Jordan as a pundit...a masterstroke.

As for hamiltons 'luke warm' congratulation to Button...thats who he is. Button comes across as a warm and friendly guy while Hamilton is media savvy and he strikes me as someone who cares about his own stock first, he wouldnt think twice of dumping McLaren if the car dropped in performance for a few seasons, and he made a few waves with comments about maybe looking elsewhere in the future. You never once got that from Button even when he was driving some real sh*tboxes at Benneton, Honda and BAR. I honestly think he is a spoilt kid and i would put money on this season seeing the beginning of tensions between the two...started by Hamilton.

Raikkonen is the man. Such a talented driver and the only one out there who looks as if he doesn't give a ****.

Alonso would be walking the title in a half decent car, by far the best driver out there.

    this.

gutted for Schumi though it seems the mercedes has made outstanding progress since he came out of retirement - looks like he hasn't lost the knack for adapting a car yet.

I guess that's why he's called the "Ice man". It does make interviews with him hard to watch though.
