Edwin van der Sar never helps me, moans Manchester United keeper Tomasz Kuszczak | Mail Online Manchester United reserve goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak last night made the remarkable claim that Old Trafford No 1 Edwin van der Sar has refused to help him with his career at the club. Polish international Kuszczak has been at United for more than three seasons but has failed to dislodge Dutch veteran Van der Sar and has made only 35 first-team starts. Now the 27-year-old has risked the wrath of his senior team-mate and manager Sir Alex Ferguson by suggesting that Van der Sar has rejected his appeals for tips and advice. Kuszczak said: 'I must say this, and Edwin won't like this too much for sure, but he doesn't help me too much. I have told him a few times already to give me some more advice because he's got more experience. 'I say: "You have to give me something more because I like to know what I do wrong and like to watch people because I can improve as a result of the advice." 'But I don't know, maybe Edwin doesn't like me. You'll have to ask him.' Kuszczak's comments will infuriate Ferguson who hates public signs of disunity from his players. The fact that the remarks came in an interview aired by in-house TV station MUTV will serve only to annoy the United boss further. Ferguson will now want to know why these latest comments have been aired at a time when United's defence is struggling for cohesion as it is. Kuszczak - who could not even get in the team when Van der Sar missed the start of the season - also hinted that he is growing frustrated with his lot. He added: 'As the manager says, you need the whole squad to win trophies. Some play more, some play less. But sooner or later everyone must go and play important games. 'The question is how long do you want to wait? Because I try every day. It's a slow process. It's not so easy. I've already waited three and a half years. I will wait longer but my ambition is so big and I want to have a nice feeling after games, be tired and go home and think, "Oh, you did a good job".' Meanwhile, Russia goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev is understood to have opened talks over a January move to Old Trafford after impressing for CSKA Moscow against the Barclays Premier League champions.

i remember when Foster made one of his famous mistakes against Citteh and the camera turned into Van Der Sar's face who was with his son in OT and Edwin was laughing
After Foster's mistake, and Barry's goal, the camera turned to van der Sar and he was showing his kid alongside him something to do with handling the ball and was shaking his head. I don't know if he was laughing though...
I remember that. The commentators all noticed it too. I'd say it's quite plausible that Pig & VDS don't have the most congenital relationship.
I have never liked tooslack and he should be sold to let one of the young lads move up in the pecking order. Fergie doesn't like public crap like this and I'm sure he will be in his office this morning for a stern talking to and he will be gone in January no doubt.
