United Squad numbers since Premier League began

There may be some glaring omissions in this list, but I wanted to put together a thread that showcased the names of the players who wear and have worn United shirt numbers throughout the history of the Premier League.

Can anyone suggest names I've missed? Clearly some players jumped from shirt to shirt, or started in a number in the 30s or 40s before "graduating" to a first team number.

Many people would shout at you for forgetting George Best at number 7,
most of which don't know that George Best held other numbers, particularly
number 10.

No, no, I think you might have misunderstood. I'm talking about players who have held shirt numbers in the era of fixed squad numbers. With names on their shirts. Not the era of each side lining up with numbers 1-11.

By the way, does anybody else want a new player to fill the empty number 32 shirt? SAF was good enough to quickly move past Ronaldo and hand the number 7 to Owen. Where's the "new Tevez"?

You will have to search for each year's squads by entering the year that you need in the search tab. But there's quite a few years' squads there.

Yes, good call. If you look at the intro to my first thread, I asked if people knew the numbers of certain players that I haven't included. Taibi (in my hazy memory) was somewhere in the low 20s .... any ideas?

Yes, Ferdinand held the no. 6 when he arrived as Blanc had no. 5.

When Blanc retired, Ferdinand got no. 5, with Wes Brown shifting on to no.6 from 24 as it was anticipated that he would be partnering Ferdinand at the heart of defence before he had those injuries problems and of course, the arrival of Vidic.

keith gillespie's number was 31 and tomlinson's was 15. pilkington 25 and casper 26, all those for the 94/95 season
