To be fair that penalty awarded against Rio at home against Newcastle which was noway a penalty is looking very costly now.

Never mind tonight, it was Everton that might haunt us for the rest of our days. If we lose it, that was the day. Still can't believe it.

I've had a fair few drinks tonight, so excuse me if I'm going over old ground, but as they say, the truth often comes out in drink.

Because Fergie set us up in a way that our players would get injured...

That's what it comes back to, not finishing teams off. You don't win games and titles on possession figures.

If we don't win the league, we know the reason.

Yes!! It's SAF. The worst performer this season. Showed too much loyalty to certain players (Park and Evra). Comical first team selections in 50% of the games, and most of all, in the most important game of the season. Was lucky with Evans stepping up and taking his play a level up. If not, we'd be were Chelsea are this season.

People forget we did lose VDS / Brown / O Shea and Vidic (injury) and then played Evans, Jones, Smalling, Rio at varying stages throughout the year. That isn't an excuse, more that it was expected our defence was never going to be as good as last year.

Whether he was a spammer or not, I wouldn't be too against cashing in for Rooney, assuming it's quite a significant bit of cashing in.

    We live with it.

I'm biased though, I genuinely hate Rooney as a person.

If we lose the league on goal difference then unfortunately the 6-1 defeat at Old Trafford has proved more decisive than we hoped it would.

The capitulation in the last 3 weeks has been so unlike us. To say we've thrown away the league title is an understatement - we were 1/100 to win it after Arsenal beat City.

The defeat at Wigan was a shock and is probably the reason for their good run rather than because of it. The last 8 minutes against Everton is now likely to haunt United fans and players alike unless Newcastle do us a favour on Sunday. Last night was the epitomy of disappointment - the biggest Manchester derby in history and we didn't even turn up.

Statements like this make me despair. Loyalty to players like Park & Evra?

Park has started only 10 games this season and finished only 6. Only one start since Jan. Id hardly call that unwavering loyalty. Evra is our only left back - who exactly is SAF supposed to play? Theres no one else.

Evra to be only the one choice for the left flank says a lot . See also the situation at the right back and show me a reason for selling JOS.....At same time have a look at Bayern. They were actually without defense due to nr of reasons ,but they were able to deal better and to reach the CL final. For next season they have a contract with the Dortmund first choice center back for 8 mln Euro only.

I think alot of that is down to Rafael and Fabio injured. Fabio finished last season brilliantly, don't forget that. And Rafael was supposed to be first choice, with Smalling capable of filling in.

Both have been injured pretty much for almost the whole season.

I would actually blame injuries. We've had every outfield players out at one point or another this season. The inconsistency in the lineup isn't just there.

So then the criticism should be SAFs transfer policy - loyalty has nothing to do with it.

As for selling JOS - the answers are pretty obvious. He wasnt a brilliant defender - he just did a job. An offer was made for a guy who was coming to an age where he would be less and less effective for the first team. United had Rafa coming along, Smalling had arrived, Phil Jones was on his way - it would appear to me that SAF thought the team could cope without JOS.

Considering we have lost our captainand the best defender in Europe, we have a new young goalkeeper, a relatively young centre back, two new centrebacks and a young inexperienced right back - all in partnership with an ageing hero in Rio and a badly declining left back...considering all of that - to have the leading number of clean sheets in the league is pretty good. If ever there was a part of the team in transition its defence.

Im not the least worried about the defence right now (with the exception of Evra).

Im not sure what the hell Dortmund or Bayerr have to do with anything.

I have an uneasy feeling he might be about to rock the boat again this summer. Can't explain why, but if we finish potless I can see his agents stirring up trouble.

Well there been nothing to suggest that thus far. He was unhappy a year ago with the level of investment and long term prospects. His concerns were entirely valid to be fair - the level of investment has been pretty poor.

If theres a significant level of investment in midfield and Rooney gets to play with some serious talent he'll be happy. If excuses are made and theres no real investment then may be he will start to complain.
