I think it's possible. Could have come up when Fergie & Wenger had the chat in person that lead to the RVP deal being concluded.

If it meant we could sign the midfielder we wanted I'd be fine with that. He's behind RVP, Rooney, Kagawa and Welbeck in the pecking order, hasn't been in great form and yet could still fetch a pretty decent transfer fee.

If we sold Hernandez and bought a midfielder, essentially we'd all get the midfielder we wanted but just would have RVP instead of Hernandez in the squad.

I actually think if we did end up selling him, we could probably get 15m+ for him, given his age, length of contract remaining, the fact he sells lots of shirts, and ability as a poacher, which would cover the initial cost of RVP... that could work out well, but only if chich wants to go, or - as you say - if it means the difference between getting a CM or not.

I really, really, don't want Hernandez to go, he's suffered from second season syndrome thats for sure but he also didn't have a massive amount of luck with injuries and such.

If he went one loan god forbid it would be Arsenal, he'd get his legs broken with the way that team play football and train their players.

I honestly can't see him going, he's mentioned in the past he expects their to be competition and forgive me if i'm wrong but hasn't he just recently signed a new contract?

Can only see Berbatov leaving after this RVP deal.

I for one love the little pea and to see folk wanting rid albeit for financial gain concerns me. HONESTLY this guy had a mediocre season but some in here are so fickle give the lad a break we had 4 strikers in 99 working in tandem so why cant we accommodate him now?

I like Chicharito , but the realist in me says he's never gonna develop into a "world-class" player.

He is a good poacher, with very good movement , but technically, he is poor. His first touch leaves a lot to be desired , as does his ability to run with the ball at his feet , and more often than not he's f***ing offside !!!

If we could get £15m for him , then I think we should sell. We make a tidy profit on a player who gave us a good couple of years, and he gets to go to a team where he is 1st or 2nd choice, instead of 4th choice at United.

Chicharito will never be a world class striker, but he will develop into a world class scorer, he knows where the net is and knows how to score. When he is in good form, he scores, i don't want to see us letting go of him, i hope he stays.

Berbatov will be the one that will be sold, why keep him and sell Chicharito who is younger?

Agreed, but we know that Rooney has a cemented starting role and RVP will now too as they are both world-class strikers, it leaves Welbeck and Hernandez on the outer. Welbeck will be first choice if either Rooney or RVP get's injured or have a rest during the season, which means Chicha will be getting very little game-time. I'm with you though, i hope he stays and i hope SAF can find out a good rotation strategy to keep them all happy.

SAF always wanted 4 strikers for the amount of games we play over the season ... so no way Hernandez can go ...

now need to sort out the sale of Berba and loan deal for Macheda

I don't want him to go TBH. I still think that he can contribute. He's an excellent finsher and I can see him coming up and scoring a few times as a sub if he stays. I think it would be too sooner to call time on him too. I mean, he had an outstanding first season and didn't quite measure up last season but he still scored a few. . . I do accept what some are saying as regards his overall play not being good enough. I said a while back that if we could combine Welbeck's build-up play and Hernandez's finishing we'd have a true world-class player.

In spite of his drawbacks I don't want him to go. I don't think that he will either. But then I'd have said that there was no chance of van Persie signing for United if you'd have asked me a couple of months ago, so you just don't know.

As much as I wanted RvP - Chich has to stay!

A loan move will be good for all concerned.

They can get fucked, but a season long loan at Arsenal would be acceptable.

Why would it be acceptable? They have added a hefty £5 million to the RVP fee because Wenger has a gripe with us...so why should we accomodate them? It was clear he wanted out, it was clear they were willing to sell but we were the only ones willing to go the extra mile for him...f*ck Wenger. A loan move is a good idea but anywhere but Arsenal as far as i am concerned.

I'd accept 12M. Don't want him to go though, not that he would.

    I'd rather see macheda go.

I dont really think RVP will be the sucess he was at Arsenal - i really do hope I'm wrong though.

Chico had a quiet year - but who can forget his storming header against chelsea in the 3-3 draw. That goal was about anticipation and the run (along with the fantastic cross). this is something you cannot teach. First touch, staying onside etc, is something that can be developed.

He won't leave. Ferguson refused to let him play for Mexico at the Olympics so that he'd be fully fit and focussed for United this season.

Whilst every newspaper is carrying the story about Van Persie, the Daily Mirror is the only one reporting Hernandez could go to Arsenal and even they say things like "Gunners MAY get Chicharito", "COULD move the other way to Arsenal" and "amid UNCONFIRMED reports he has told Ferguson he wants to leave".

    The story stinks of bulls***.

When Wenger was asked about replacing Van Persie he said they had already signed Podolski and Giroud. The quote on Sky Sports website says: "We have already recruited Giroud and Podolski who originally were intended to offset the departure of van Persie"
