I dont want to see Ando leaving this season, although if his leaving would mean bringing in Martinez then I would take that deal without a doubt. As for Park, he should leave the club now, yes he was a very good servant for the club for the last 6 seasons without counting the last season because that was absolutely travesty.
Most of the reserves do not have much of a bearing on first team affairs so its a non event. Pity about Norwood leaving because I felt with hard work and patience he could have carved himself an O'sheasque type of career. One of the central midfielders must leave because as an earlier poster said for a team that's so light in CM we are quite loaded. We started the season with eight ,now we have six but its effectively five given Fletcher's troubles. Anderson must definitely be moved on either on loan or a straight sale. Though I would want Modric I think M'villa should be earmarked to replace Anderson. With Kagawa to take Berba's spot and share the fourth winger's role with Welbeck and Brady the squad could be set. On Brady I think that he should stay on in the first half of the season with a view to use him in the League Cup and CL deadrubbers(if we return to normal service) then loaned out to a Premiership lower table side in January. We must attempt to fill most of the squad player roles with graduates from our reserves because its cheaper and breeds in them the Manchester United mentality(working with the living legends like Scholes and Giggs).
http://www.turkish-football.com/news_read.php?id=3036 Beşiktaş are reported to be preparing a move for Manchester United striker Federico Macheda. The proposed deal would see Macheda join the Istanbul club on a loan deal with an undisclosed purchase option. Macheda would be the second United player loaned to the Black Eagles in successive seasons should he complete the transfer. Bebe spent a year at Beşiktaş last summer, however, due to a serious cruciate ligament injury the Portuguese striker missed most of the season. The 20-year-old center forward joined Manchester United from the Lazio academy in 2007 and went onto sign a professional contract with the club in 2008 aged just 17. Macheda has spent the last two years on loan at Italian outfit Sampdoria and Premiership team QPR failing to secure a regular starting position at either club. The U-21 Italian international would likely play regular football at Beşiktaş. The club is estimated to be in debt to tune of €180-€200 million, Chairman Fikret Orman had made it his priority to resolve the mounting financial crisis and create a more sustainable future when he was elected last month. Beşiktaş have been taking steps to resolve the situation and are expected to focus on developing their academy players and giving young players a bigger role next season. The signing of former Arsenal youth, 19 year old Oğuzhan Özyakup is clear indication of the club's new transfer policy.
My own speculation: Being sold or leave for free: Owen,Berbatov,PIG,Park,Pogba,Fryers,Norwood,Hendrie,Jacob (Ando may be but unlikely IMO) Loan:Johnstone,Fabio,Thorpe,M.Keane,King,Thorpe,Macheda,Bebe,Tunnicliffe,McCullough,McGinty,Giverin Fringe/Back-up for first team: Petrucci,W.Keane,Cofie,Vermijl,Brady,Cole,Lingard,Wootton,Van Velzen,Barmby,Blackett. Buy: Kagawa,Modric,Powell,LB,Fisher, some U18s
Anderson would be shifted if we received the right offer. I'm thinking more and more that Nani might too (given his hardball games on the contract) I'm thinking Berbatov, Macheda and Bebe are off for certain.
we could find it difficult to find suitors for Ando and Bebe .. hence both will remain with the club for another season (maybe a loan deal for Bebe is possible)
That's the key, but the longer Nani drags his heels over the contract the more likely United are to move him on, we don't want a Nasri situation developing here.
I'd quite like to see this set-up for the new season (assuming no more incoming players): FIRST TEAM David De Gea / Anders Lindegaard / Ben Amos Phil Jones / Rafael Da Silva Patrice Evra / Zeki Fryers Chris Smalling / Rio Ferdinand Nemanja Vidic / Jonny Evans Paul Pogba / Michael Carrick Tom Cleverley / Ryan Giggs / Paul Scholes Shinji Kagawa / Davide Petrucci / Nick Powell Antonio Valencia / Luis Nani Wayne Rooney / Javier Hernandez Danny Welbeck / Ashley Young RESERVES Sam Johnstone / Liam Jacob / Joe Coll Marnick Vermijl / Michele Fornasier Tyler Blackett / Sean McGinty Michael Keane / Frédéric Veseli Scott Wootton / Luke McCullough Ryan Tunnicliffe / Reece Brown Larnell Cole / Luke Hendrie Rob Brady / Charni Ekangamene Jesse Lingard / Gyliano Van Velzen Will Keane / Tom Lawrence Josh King / John Cofie ACADEMY U18s Jonny Sutherland / Pierluigi Gollini / Kieran O'Hara Liam Grimshaw / Donald Love Louis Rowley / Ryan McConnell Matt Wilkinson / Callum Evans Declan Dalley / Nicolas Ioannou Joe Rothwell / Jack Rudge / Josh Harrop / Noe Baba Ben Pearson / James Weir / Yussif Adam Mats Møller Dæhli / Andreas Pereira / Patrick McNair Adnan Januzaj / Kenji Gorré Jack Barmby / Sam Byrne James Wilson / Ash Fletcher --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So my clear-out would be: Loan deals: Fabio Da Silva Tom Thorpe Bébé Gladstony Sold: Ritchie De Laet (Leicester City) Matt James (Leicester City) Anderson Ji-Sung Park Dimitar Berbatov Oliver Norwood Luke Giverin Federico Macheda Released: Michael Owen Tomasz Kuszczak Retired (joining Reserves coaching team): Darren Fletcher
We've been ' set for a summer clearout' for the past 3 seasons. Although i believe a full squad freshening up is needed.
Moon, with that mid ( Kagawa should be along Nani and them in that list ) we do not have a hope in hell of winning anything. It is 'assuming', so we'll have to hope and wait.
