Team; Gollini, McConnell, Ioannou, Grimshaw, Rowley, Weir, Rothwell, Pearson, Pereira, Wilson, Byrne... United got beat 2-0.
I know but even still, we take this competition very seriously are expected to win it. The Irish teams are usually the whipping boys.
United squad numbers: 1 Pierluigi Gollini 2 Ryan McConnell 3 Louis Rowley 4 Liam Grimshaw 5 Nicolas Ioannou 6 Ben Pearson 7 James Weir 8 Joe Rothwell 9 Sam Byrne 10 James Wilson 11 Andreas Pereira 12 Devonte Redmond 13 Kieran O'Hara 14 Matthew Willock 15 Ash Fletcher 16 Paddy McNair 17 Sean Goss 18 Josh Harrop It sounds like their formation in the first match was ......... http://www.manutd.com/en/Players-An...ews/2012/Jul/united-milk-cup-v-co-tyrone.aspx Not a lot of width if they have basically four central midfielders trying to share space! Harrop, McNair and Goss came on as subs. It might be worth bringing in Matthew Willock, as he's supposed to be a proper winger. Similarly James Wilson can play wide. Then Pearson could play behind Byrne with Rothwell and Pereira controlling the midfield. I've not seen Ryan McConnell play but I like James Weir, and I believe he filled in a little at right back before. Josh Harrop is a real battler and he has worn the #2 as well. For a team dominated by midfielders this group is missing the creativity of Lawrence, Barmby, Januzaj and Daehli.
Do you know if we can we call up a replacement? Otherwise I'm envisioning some central defensive duties for Harrop, Rothwell, or Weir. The match report shows that Paddy McNair came on when Ioannou went off. I'd be surprised if it was a direct swap. Any clue if McNair went in to midfield with somebody else filling in at centre back?
Got no idea. Maybe put Pearson in there? https://fbcdn-video-a.akamaihd.net/..._=1343009824_821a4562b9b548cb62c7bfb5ccd669ec Short highlights.
Seems Gladstony and Agnaldo are in the squad, may remember them from here; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...6/Manchester-Uniteds-new-recruits-Brazil.html
Think you're in the wrong thread. Milk Cup squad is U18s in Northern Ireland. The Brazilians are with the Reserves in Ireland.
United are currently 3-0 up in their second game. Wilson (2) and Byrne with the goals. Pearson and Rothwell are bossing the midfield, apparently.
It finished 8-0. Harrop (4) and Fletcher with the last two goals. We need to win our next game, but that has done our goal difference the world of good.
I was down at this game, it was number 18 that got the four goals, but the announced it as James wilson everytime he scored!! Man of the match by a mile, total different level this kid!! We've def got a real talent in this boy!! : D need a win tomarra to have any chance of gettin into the top level final!!
