I don't know man, I never felt that he's that good when I watched him. Why M'Vila is unattainable? If Arsenal can sign him, why can't we? Speaking of Newcastle players, I want Santon. People want another right back, and they also want a left back to replace Evra. Santon can be that guy, first choice left back, in injury crises he can play at the right. (not that I believe that we need right backs)
Obviously that's just one line up, there's plenty of other line ups including Valencia that could play. But I just prefer Young and Nani, they are less predictable and are both hard-working wingers themselves. Tiote would offer plenty of discipline anyway, but Carrick could fit in too. As could Cleverley, Welbeck, Vidic etc.
I think he's brilliant. And basically because I think there will be too much competition for him and clubs that would be more attractive to him - either because they can offer higher wages or they have some other factor (like being Madrid or having Wenger in charge). Maybe I'm wrong, I just can't imagine it. And Santon is a good shout, he would fit in well, but that can wait a year. We need to use all of whatever resources we have on the midfield this Summer.
His fitness is uncertain, plus I think Evans has shown form this season as good as Vidic did in the months leading up to his injury, in a different style of course.
Definitely what I thought of.Used to rate him very highly since Inter times.Nice to see him getting his career back on track. But apparently Newcastle signed him in last year,so the fee must be ridiculous.(Pardew is clever in transfer aspect) Also he's injury-prone.
with Kagawa deal almost certain, I am not sure if Demble is the right foil ... we need a deep lying ball winner and always wanted Martinez to fill that position...
No, just no. Vida and Evans are like two total different planets. Just watch our match against Everton away from home this season, and compare it to the home game. Even Ferdinand is different when next to Vida. If Vida won't regain his form next season, I demand a world class striker in the next January.
Good player, might become very good. Don't want him though. We haven't got money to buy players we don't need. Yeah, 'cos more squad players is what we need.
Yes Evans had a bad game in that one, Vidic has a bad game or two himself though. Just as soon as Evans has one, everyone goes into panic mode. Also, Ferdinand looked very shaky early in the season next to Vidic. The lack of pace between them led him to sit crazily deep behind the defensive line.
Saf have said that he wont sign a defensive midfielder. so that rules out m'vila, tiote, martinez, vidal, about 50 % of the players we want this summer..
When we get rid of Park, Berbatov and Owen, with Giggs and Scholes a year older/retiring. Yes we f**king will.
Vidic is the best centre back in the world (Or at least best 3) you cannot bench him, there's no excuse to bench him. He should be the first name in our sheet, he's our captain our with Rooney our only world class player. I can't comprehend how any of our defenders could be picked ahead of him. Evans + Ferdinand will never win us anything.
No we won't. If our medical department was up to scratch we'd have too many players. I can't think of another club that has a bigger squad than we do. Giggs/Park/Berba/Owen/Scholes go and we sign Kagawa and a midfielder, we'd have 3 players capable of leading the line, 2 players to play behind the striker, 4 potential wingers, 5 central midfielders. We don't have money to splash around. Focus on what we NEED first of all. At this point Dembele would be a luxury signing - he wouldn't get us closer to the top sides in the world. If we manage to buy 2 top players and still have some extra cash then why not? We won't though. People really need to think before saying yes to every good player we're linked with. Right now lack of 'good' players is not an issue.
He just say he won't sign a holding midfielder,so he stills can sign a box-to-box midfielder or Carrick type. (seems only Tiote on that list is a pure holding midfielder, although I can't comprehend much about Fergie's definition of a holding midfielder).
Playing Vidic and Ferdinand in this stage of their career won't win us anything either. We would have to sit deep and become a defensive team. Evans and Smalling could definitely win us things in the not-so-distant future.
Next season we'll probably see the shift happen between Ferdinand and Smalling/Evans. I still say Smalling is the better of the two - he's got that touch of class that Evans will never have. Both are (or will be) top defenders though. Assuming Vidic can get back to his best, he still has his starting place nailed on.
my bad then, must have missunderstood.. in my mind we need a tiote type of player, but who am i to question saf?
