Did one of these many moons ago, but it has since been lost.

I love the "epic" movie scores, such as John Williams, Hans Zimmer and Steve Jablonsky. There's also many great remixes on youtube. At the moment I'm listening to various versions of "Saw" by Charles Clousier.

There are some good, even great soundtrack composers. But for me, Ennio Morricone is the number one of all-time.

John Williams is the king for me. So many brilliant pieces for Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, Apollo 13, Superman, the list is endless.

Going to keep this strictly to score, as songs from movies would be too wide a subject area.

Good to see John Murphy in there. Absolutely fantastic stuff. Morricone is excellent, certainly my favourite of the classic film composers. His score for Cinema Paradiso is often overlooked in favour of his more dramatic Western work, and while there's no replacing The Ecstasy of Gold, it's definitely worth a look.

Danny Elfman is great too, he's fantastic at capturing and distilling atmosphere rather than manufacturing it in the way Zimmer etc do. Hard to argue with Williams, he's had a fantastic career and been very consistent.

I also love Cliff Martinez's soundtrack to the remake of Solaris. Really fit the mood of the movie, the fine line between ambience and melody. He also did the soundtrack to Drive, which I'm reliably told is awesome, but I haven't seen it yet.

Clint Mansell is another favourite. Obviously Lux Aeterna has been done to death thanks to Sky Sports, but his scores for The Fountain and Moon are worth checking out:

Absolute favourite though is Neil Young's Dead Man:

@Paul, good choice with sunshine. I've been listening to that a lot recently along with the dark knight rises soundtrack.
