It was a 50/50 tackle and Wes got there first, he has longer legs.

It was high though. 50/50 or not, it was high and outside of England he would at leats get a booking. Shockingly poor refereeing.

That's because Wes usually doesn't make a fuss, he's honest. I think the little ballox apologised.

Why does it matter what the player does? They shouldn't influence the refs decision. He bottled it badly....Dean. Your actions are what should matter not some poxy ass apology after the incident. Ridiculous.

I agree but the actions of Wes and Tevez influenced the referee, it shouldn't though.

Agent defends Carlos Tevez's outburst at Gary Neville

Carlos Tevez's agent Kia Joorabchian believes the Manchester City striker's remarks about former team-mate Gary Neville have been taken out of context.

Tevez's goals in the recent Manchester derby prompted an abusive gesture from United's Neville, who was branded a "moron" and a "boot-licker" by Tevez.

"Sometimes comments get a bit lost in translation," Joorabchian told the BBC.

"If you use slang terminology, that slang, interpreted word for word, may not sound as it would in context."

In the build-up to the Carling Cup semi-final first leg against United at Eastlands last Tuesday, defender Neville claimed that Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson had been right to let Tevez leave the club for City last summer.

The Argentine, who scored a brace in City's 2-1 win, gestured and cupped his ears after scoring his second goal and later claimed that his celebrations had been aimed at Neville.

Subsequently, the Football Association warned both players over their future conduct and urged both clubs to show restraint ahead of the second leg on Wednesday.

"Gary Neville stepped into something that maybe he shouldn't have done," Joorabchian told BBC Radio 5 live's Sportsweek. "When you're a professional football player you have to have respect for your companions.

"If you don't have respect for your companions, and you don't have class, then you have to accept that they are entitled to say something back.

"Since Gary Neville didn't have that respect, I think Carlos felt that he had to give him an answer.

"But if you translate a slang terminology into an actual word, it may turn out to look like a very bad word. In reality, it might not be such a bad word."

Joorabchian went on to suggest that Tevez, who has already over 50 caps for Argentina, has yet to reach the height of his powers as a player.

"I don't think Carlos came anywhere near hitting his peak at Man United," added Joorabchian.

"I think in the next three or four years he has got a lot more to offer, because he's a very young player still, he's only 25."

This still annoys me. I mean Nevs the captain - he's probs gonna agree with Fergie on this occainsion. God I hate Tevez now, he was one of my favourites when he was with us, but the way he constantly speaks about United really rackles me.

are you serious fella because PAUL PARKER was a brilliant full back and would wipe the floor with gary neville without a doubt , if you think its such a comedy quote then you have not followed utd for long have you . just because certain players shout their mouths off about utd and say quotes to make headlines about utd does not make them better players than previous players at the club , neville has been a great servant for utd but has made many serious mistakes over the years that have cost utd games {if you've followed utd for over 10 years you will know } , well paul parker never made many mistakes at all and if you take both players at their best defencively then its parker all the way im sorry.

Ant has supported United for 20 odd years.
Parker was a very good player but he had his limits as well. Injuries played their part in his last few seasons but Gary was clearly able to take over. Neville has been up and down that touchline for donkey's years and in his prime was better than Parker. Look at hoe many times he has been in the PFA team of the season. That says it all.

injuries did cost parker big time , but as i stated "at their best" parker was a supreme stopper and dennis irwin had to switch sides because parker was the best in that position if i remember correctly . alright you say ant has supported utd for 20 odd years ,so he's a great fan in my eyes and he should realise how good parker was at utd , neville excelled as an attacking full back with a great partner in beckham on that flank ,but if your talking about stopping an opponent then parker is the man for the job.

more like an honest opinion mate , if you asked schmeichal ,bruce ,pallister and irwin who was the best , i reckon they would tell you parker . in pallister's autobiography he labels parker has a supreme full back , and my rose tinted specs from 20 years ago also came to the same conclusion , i am not labelling neville a bad defender because he has been great at utd but in my book parker possessed more talent , but he never shouted his mouth off about it .

Being a quality right back is not just about 'stopping'. Neville at his peak, was a master at both, making him better than Parker in my eyes. Irwin was also a much better player than him. The fact he could play on the left just as well as he could on the right meant he swapped over. It wasn't because Parker was better than him because he wasn't. It was better for the team as a whole and it worked.
