Was just having an interesting conversation regarding records in all sports being broken regularly. Over the years sportsmen/women have gone faster, jumped higher, jumped longer etc etc. At the last Olympics you heard the words " A new world record" dozens (hundreds ? ) of times and it will be no different next year, we'll hear the same. Every week we hear of a new record being made in one sport or another. Well just how much longer can we go before no more records are broken ? There has to be a limit surely ? There must be a limit to just what the human body is capable of. 100m in 5 seconds
Loads of improvements in health, nutrition and technology are going to improve on previous records. It wasn't that long ago that football players smoke and drank regularly, some still do. Athletes and sportsmen the like are going to be fitter, faster, stronger and more capable as time goes on but there will be limits and the current trend of surpassing previous attempts will slow down eventually. Unless of course we allow genetic enhancement that is
People said the same about Kip Keino (sp). Not a name many will recognise on here now. All the greats have been surpassed but where is it all going to end ?
Sir Chris Hoy's dad just broke the record for the most pukka pies eaten in thirty minutes with 28 Keep peddling chris coz bellys goona git ya if you do not jesus how can someone so fat spawn someone so fit ? the guy is a total elephant
Bolt is aiming for 9.4 in the 100m and 19secs in the 200 at the Olympics. That would be phenomenal and if anyone can do it, it's him.
They will just have to start measuring speed in nuclear nano seconds (if such a thing exists), and distance will be measured in molecules and atoms.
