Like Van horseface for instance? He was just that but we scored less goals because he hogged all the chances

Van was one of the best poachers , the best we have had under SAF.
we played a different style back than, which is way our strikers scored more and midfielder/wingers less than now.
now wingers score more goals as they come further in with the ball.
still it would be a great pluss with someone like that who could play games and not be injured most of the year like owen.

The midfield is the biggest problem and the priority and then left back and then another central defender, we score plenty even if it takes too many shots per goal and better coaching for the forwards plus better midfielders providing better service instead of giving the ball away would improve that.

before he arrived we won the league 3 years on the trot,
in the 5 years he was at United we won it once
we've won the PL four out of five times and appeared in 3 CL finals since he left.

first season aresenal had their great run of no losing!
than we had a strong chelsea who bought any top talent around to get there!!!!
still he did an great job for us. his scoring rate was phenomenal!!!
as i remember we were rebuilding and our defence was leaking too much than. after quirez came and rio and so our defence got better!!!
obviously its not about just one player you see, as for Rud, he did great job for us while he here!
if he had been here now at his prime we would definetly score more of those goals we waste this days.
after he left vidic, evra, ronaldo , rooney, tevez. came in, and they turned in to quality!(ron, and ro came on his last year!)

You miss the point. I'm not blaming Ruud for anything, just trying to show that the idea that we need to bring in a top class goal scorer doesnt follow, I dont think that Chelsea team was any stronger than this City one, yet we've done better to hold Ciyeh off than we did to hold them off with a set up where the goals come multiple sources, even in the season where Ronny scored 40 he wasnt the focal point in the way Ruud was.

Cisse is a machine, great finish for the second today. As long as he doesn't end up dressing like a country gent and smacking his missus he'll have a fine career in the Premier League.

i think that chelsea team was stronger than the city now, reasons
    1 better manager
2 better midifield(essien, fat frank...) better defence(cole, terry, cava) and with drogba they had a top forward there too(city have more in numbers but drogba was better than any of their forward they have there now).
to be honest city have payed some crazy prices for some averege player in the last 3 years.

Do not replace them. Recruit from within. Buy at Christmas if hit with an injury to any of the main three strikers. Nani and Young can no doubt do a job behind Rooney anyway.

    agree .

Using the available strikers and investment in players for major midfield overhaul is what actually United need ,but my dream variant is SAF to land a pack from Atletic Bilbao and assistant coach close to Bielsa .

Why do we need a 4th striker....I don't understand. We need a 2nd striker,a super party to assist Rooney. Wellers and Chicha can be 3rd and 4th respectively. They're not matured yet and not world class....

Funny, when I see people saying Chico isn't world class. Not 11 months ago we were calling him our best find in a long time.

You don't score 20 goals in your first season if you aren't world class.

The thing is both, Welbeck and Hernandez are in a pisspoor form. The recent low goal performances can, and should be blamed on them. Both the defense and midfield are in superb form, we should have been beating recent teams with 5+ goals. Rooney is clueless again but he does the job when presented the chance, the other 2 on the other hand, need to pick themselves up or they are going to go down the pecking order in the summer.

well, we´ve other options....blame Fergie for still starting them.

Welbeck is young and the season was long, its normal theres ups and downs in form. Hernandez has scored our second most goals. Both are our future, both will score lots of goals again next season. If we buy a top striker he would limit Welbecks and Hernandez´ game time. That can´t be in Fergies interest. And I can not see that because Fergie fully trusts and counts on the two.

I just don't understand why is he so stubborn not to play Rooney as the leading striker, or calling Berba back. I'm not saying they're sh*t or something, but their current form is laughable. And if they don't start playing SAF won't have any options left. We can't sacrifice the whole next season just because "they are the future". I think they need a spell by the sidelines and come back for the everton game and we'll see what are they made of.

exactly. Why not give him 1 or 2 games now. We want to sell him! No club pays a lot for a player who hasnt played since Feb 23rd. Good performances , maybe some goals could drive up the price a bit. It looks like the forgotten man role is what Fergie wants for him.

Or make him change his mind? Maybe that's what Fergie is afraid of?
