maybe. I am sure he wouldn´t, not after this horrible season. They had talks, he must have clearity now. I am not saying Berba should´ve played the last games, we´ve done fine without him. But he´d deserve to say Goodbye in style. Not leaving like this with a last game 2 1/2 months before the season is over.

Knowing Fergies stubbornity he will play Owen instead - to see if he can give him a new contract.

A strike force consisting of Rooney, Welbeck, Chicharito, Owen, King, Keane and Lingard is more than enough, in my opinion.

I'd loan out Macheda and Cofie. Keane might end up out on loan as well.

Rooney, Welbeck, Chicharito, Macheda, King, Keane and Lingard

Rooney/Welbeck/Chicharito for EPL + CL, Macheda/Keane for the early rounds in CC + FA Cup (maybe King and Lingard, too). If theres tough opponents in these round Rooney/Welbeck will play anyway. I would also loan Macheda, but keep him until January.

I really dont see the need for Owen here, when we have 4 kids who also need game time. If they should improve they have to learn. And the cup games are the ones for learning. If Keane/Lingard always remain in the Reserve team without getting chances to play for the first 11 they wont be very motivated and maybe go elsewhere.

Agreed, he does get into a lot of offsides. But, he's going through a bad patch, and this might be a second season syndrome. 12 goals and 4 assists is not bad at all, considering his injury spells.

the No.4 won´t get many games (and not the bigger ones), nothing wrong with Macheda as No.4 imo.

Plenty wrong, 4th choice MIGHT get the games, who knows what injuries we'll get, he is not good enough to be relied upon in a crisis...

Depends on the formation we play next season.....if we get a new attacking goal scoring midfielder for example (Kagawa?) we don´t necessarily have to play with two strikers. Injuries happen, yes. But even with these injuries it wasnt the 4th striker starting more games because of that.

Young gives us that additional option as well and so would think we will not bring in a direct replacement for Berba/Owen..... only if we also let go Macheda then can see us signing another young striker with potential ... or should I put it the other way...if we have someone young already in the radar we could let Macheda leave

imagine the beauty of him coming off the bench and pinching a winner.....

The "Del Piero 7" shirt sales alone would cover any costs of his time here...

It would be amazing...and whatever about the shirts...what the other strikers could learn from him especially the youngsters but even the established strikers would be invaluable...classy player

Considering we're allegedly looking to play at a faster tempo I don't see how the likes of Del Piero or Raul can be considered as viable options.

Whats the benefit of replacing Berbatov with Del Piero? Why not keep Berbatov then? Del Piero would also probably demand (rightfully so) high wages as well.
