I guess this could only be a back up plan in case we do not land any of our prime targets..

This rumour excites me more than the Sneijder/Nasri rumours. Hugely talented youngster, impressed me every time I saw him play.

He's imo as good as Pastore and comes with a much cheaper price tag.

    Much cheaper?

Yeah, rumours of 50 million euros being bid for him...

His release clause is rumoured to be only 45 million euros, why would anyone want to bid 50 million euros?

The article says that Santos would release him for something around the 25 million mark which is probably a more realistic value.

Agree with that, rather Sneijder than Ganso

Pastore is in a different league to him. Sneijder is a much better option, we need proven experienced players.

Sorry, didn't see the original thread.

Anyway, this would be a purchase for the future - as I can't see being without him for half of the season being ideal. We need a full strength squad for kickoff.

Ganso could be a good signing. Too expensive for an unproven player though.

    From the Metro...

Manchester United may turn to Santos' Paulo Henrique Ganso in their search for a playmaker, with a £25m bid being considered for the 21-year-old.

He needs to improve his mobility big time to make impact in Europe. No doubt he is talented, but IMO we shouldn't go for him. He is suited for Serie A than Premier league. Not saying which league is better, but he is tailor made for the pace of Serie A..

Agreed, although the same could be said about Pastore who also plays at a very slow tempo. Both Ganso and Pastore would be tactical nightmares for Fergie in terms of fitting into the formation and style of the team. Both of them require a specialist holding midfielder to be played alongside them, which is something we don't have.

And Ganso is nothing like Kaka, Kaka is a lot more mobile and tends to run with the ball more often.

Ganso is compared with Kaka?

Yeah Ganso needs time on the ball to pick up those killer balls.. With mobility I also mean their off the ball movement. I have seen Ganso standing still to receive pass and spray it. Can be marked out easily. He will learn that with age though.

He is not made for us IMO..

    this is true

but RDJ, Pastore? slow? I really don't think you could say that, it's not how I would describe his come and it's nothing like Ganso's game

Pastore can play wide in a 4-3-3 and his passing range is terrific, so he might be worth a shot as a deep laying playmaker.

Ganso is talented, but I don't his style. I like elegant attacking midfielders who look to create and pass before shooting, the kind of midfielders that unlock the defences with the most brilliant of the short passes. Ganso is similar to Kaka, in the way they always look to burst into the area and score.

Pastore isn't slow, but he slows the tempo down. He has a very classy, languid style and seems to stroll from place to place. Many of the 'typical' Englsih fans would label him lazy and he's somewhat similar to Berba in that aspect.

    @ Scholes_18

I've seen lots of reports labeling him the 'next Kaka'

I agree, he's not made for us or the English league. He'd be fantastic in a team like Milan.

You're a fellow Berba lover as well, so that statement doesn't apply to you. ;)
