Ravel Morrison is the stand-out star of United's current Academy U18 team, who occasionally sees action for the Reserves. His best position would appear to be on the right wing, but when playing in the centre of the park he could dominate the opposing midfielders. Ravel has extraordinary footwork, the skills to dribble round or through defenders, and the same kind of fire that drives Wayne Rooney!

    A thread about Ravel:

And here's the story on the Official website:

Can he become a future star of the First Team? Only time will tell!

Thought I'd give this thread a jump start. Genuinely exciting player. Has skill, passion, technique and flair. Really hope he develops into a top player because he has the potential to do it.

Morrison is the most skilled player in the academy.
Am I a little bit excited about him. He's not just skills, he also displays abit of determination when it matters. But somehow, I don't get the feeling even he will become a first team player for United.

And if he can't do it...

But he could well become a squad player and if he doesn't think he's the finished article while he's still in his nappies (like Richardson) he could well go on to have a good career.

I saw the highlights versus Crewe and Progba really caught the eye in that game.

Was just his first game, but already a class above the rest. very, very good player. Both Morrison and Progba are the ones to watch.

Wasnt he arrested for possession of drugs and weapons not too long ago?
Im not sure Sir Alex would want a trouble maker in the squad

No, someone he was in a car with was.

You think they would have someone in the club who takes drugs and shoots people?!

He has everything needed to become a future world star, his attitude is supposed to be dreadful, very arrogant apparently. Hope our coaching staff can keep him grounded and get him working harder in matches as it would be a shame to waste that talent!

How is he getting on? He really should be playing more reserve matches if im honest. He is way to good for academy football everytime i see him. His attitude is something which can be worked on with growth as a person and with time. Humility will reach him at some stage of his life in sure but why watse such a huge talent? He seems such an exciting player every time ive seen him play...which hasnt been huge amounts but enough to be able to tell he has major talent.

He's not done anywhere near enough at academy level to push his way into the reserves yet, in fact I'd say he's been pretty disappointing so far this season. Not even sure he'll start for the U18s when the Youth Cup comes around (the side that plays those games is usually the strongest available).

^^^interesting. If you're correct, hopefully he'll step it up a level or two because based on natural talent whenever i have watched him play on mutv, he seems head and shoulders above the rest at academy level.

One of/the most talented under 18 year old in England according to reports.

Terrible attitude towards his career but you can't really blame someone for enjoying there life as it seems he is doing quite a bit

Morrison got ill (and has had an illness for a while which has been effecting him) on the England tour and as a result was limited to about half an hour of football all tournement.

Good to know, international duty and a slight knock have disrupted his form over the past month. Hope he can get some game time under his belt tomorrow, his displays during the first month of the season were excellent, top notch in fact. I'm praying that this lad will realise that he can become a true great if he gets his act together.

Check out the Liverpool match thread in the Academy section. Somebody hinted at a suspension for some behind the scenes goings on?

How's he getting on? Heard that he has a stinking attitude and judging by his facebook he comes across as a prick.
