Pogba will not get Carling Cup games next season, he may get one sub appearance due to injuries to other reserve players but that will be it! He's only made one reserve start so far, so that shows you how far down the pecking order the lad is...

I would be very surprised if he does not get Carling cup games next season.
In fact barring injuries(like to Petrucci) or a real hit in his development ,he by the end of the season may also get a squad number and be in the Macheda category(i.e the posiiton where Macheda is currently) in terms of the first team.

I think everyone's getting carried away with Pogba-mania. I don't doubt he'll be a good player - hopefully with United.

But maturity is the issue, so let him get a full season under his belt with the Academy, and expect more cameos with the Reserves before we start clamouring for him to be in the First Team.

If you want to champion some guys who could give the likes of Fletcher, Scholes and Carrick a rest, try Tom Cleverley, Matt James or Magnus Eikrem, or even Corry Evans or Oliver Norwood.

James,Norwood and Evans will most likely go on loan .Cleverley if he stays will in anycase be involved in the first team and Eikrem also if he stays is bound to get some first team minutes ,though not too many except the FA cup and league cup.

Pogba has already played for the reserves and i think like Macheda did ,he can also make the leap quickly from the youth team to reserves to on the brink of the First team. Getting of the first team like Macheda is not that of a big task for Pogba with his talent and people with lesser ability have gotten there.

The real big step is going from there and establishing yourself in the first team squad, and i do not think anyone is advocating that happening the next season.

Saw Pogba in the U17 championships and he looks very good. Chipped in with goals and assists and looks like a monster of a player.

Le Havre AC and Manchester United FC are pleased to announce that following discussions between the two clubs, an agreement has been reached in relation to the registration of Paul Pogba with Manchester United in July 2009.

The terms of the agreement will remain confidential.

Paul is an exciting young talent who Manchester United hope can prove to be a great success at Old Trafford. Le Havre would like to wish the player well in his future career.

I truly and completely believe..Paul Pogba is the next huge talent..now i dont make statements like that seldom..Its just that everytime he plays..he stands out..a class above the rest..Ive seen very few players that stand out like he does...so much maturity in his game its unreal he's 17.

He's 6'2..has a lot of presence on the field..he is defiant in possession..he ahs tremendous foot skills for his height and size..and passes a ball brilliantly..plus he has a damn good shot at goal..Now Ive seen the lad defend as well..he wont lunge into tackles..but he's a smart player..he reads the play and plays accordingly..

Ive never been this excited for United prospect in a long time..plus with every person that talks about him saying he's humble and team work oriented with a leadership attitude how can you not be excited??..he's in the first team reserves level already..and this could be a year..where he proves he's better than that..phenomenal talent.

Probably do both you are allowed 2 over-age players in the Academy squad for games.

He's still only 17 mate and won't turn 18 until the end of next season. Academy football is U18's, but you can still play if you're 18.

He'll play most of his football with The U18's.

From what i have seen of him i would put him on the bench next season and give him a bit of a taster of first team football , he is going to be hell of a strong player when he develops fully

I can't find anything on the official FFF website and he wasn't even in the squad for the latest U-17 squad. I'll keep looking.

OK, they don't say what happened but it was in training with the U-18 squad who have a tournament next week. There's no details yet, just a little thing saying he's already been replaced.

Edit: Not even a tournament, they have two friendly matches against Denmark.

Think the injury happened in the U17 Euros back in May. These U18 friendlies aren't until the week after next (24th/26th) so doubt he'd be in training for those already.
