Lol, yeah I'll be cheering on Newcastle on Sunday too! I had a dream that they beat City 11-4 last night. Realistic.
Hopefully, they can do us a MASSIVE favour. however, we have to remember that they play Chelsea on Wednesday at the Bridge, so City will be the fresher team come Sunday.
Newcastle's home record is impressive. They have only lost 2 games at home all season and both of those games (West Brom & Chelsea) were back in December so they are unbeaten at home this year. They have not conceded at home in their last 4 games. Sunderland were the last away team to score there on 4th March. They have only conceded 15 goals at home all season, which gives them the 5th best home defensive record in the league (only City, Arsenal, Everton & Liverpool) have better records. Against the teams above them in the league they beat United 3-0, drew 0-0 against Arsenal and drew 2-2 against Spurs. What can they do against City? I'd say hopeful. Desperate would have been starting a "We can beat Swansea 10-0!" thread.
If Newcastle get anything from the result you can guarantee we'll still somehow play shit against Swansea. Joke
We should be looking to score 10 goals against Swansea and Sunderland rather than hoping for a favour from Newcastle. The attitude of hoping that other teams take points of our rivals is the attitude and mentality of small timers. Big teams think big and act big. We Manchester f**king United for christ sake. Swansea should come to Old Trafford trembling in fear, our players should go there on a rampage and get as much goals as they can.
City will beat them. Strangely every team seem to step up their game against us this season and roll overs for smaller clubs...
This thread is a f**king embarrassment, lock it and move on. Do people forget we are Manchester Utd? We only have ourseleves to blame, we played like scared boys and we got beat accordingly.
so newcastle have beaten man utd, liverpool and everton at home...and drawn with arsenal and spurs at home? credit where its due 2 losses at home for the whole season in all comps is impressive...both times were the only occasions they have conceeded 3 at home...newcastle not conceededing a single home goal in two months shows great consistancy why on earth some people think they would not put in their best effort on sunday is beyond me when they have a decent chance of qualifying for the CL, and they have only had 2 stints in the CL group stages: 1997/98(made first group stage) and 2002/03(made second group stage) and both times were eliminated in barcas group...only made the third qualifying round in 2003/04 losing on penalties to drop into the uefa cup - so im sure they will be determined to get back into the CL again a draw at home on sunday is definately achieveable for newcastle especially with city players partying and boozing it up all week long, because apparantly city have already won the league despite two games to play - you could say a newcastle win is asking for a bit much, but a draw is certainly a possibility
Quotes from the Toontastic Forum looks like their fans are well up for it !!! "If our crowd are the same as the Liverpool game, it's Man Utd's title. I'm pretty sure we won't lose. We never think about it from the oppositions view point but SJP is a hard place to come. When we're at the game we won't even be entertaining the idea we'll lose. Man City have good players all over the park, but we have match winners, I'll be surprised if we surrender easily. Their away record v our home record since November point to a home win imo." "It'll be interesting that's for sure, knew City had spent a lot, but I'd no idea they'd spent £375m in the last 4 seasons. I hope we f**king howk them at the weekend and they win nowt cos that is f**king ridiculous."
