I see young starting on the left. I think if fergie pays 15 mill for a guy in his peak years he'll definately give him a chance to prove himself. Fergie gives people time to prove themselves usually it's fair to say. Valencia being injured currently (anyone know how long?) will improve nanis chances of starting the season with a pre-season behind his back whereas valencia might be playing catch up for a while. However if all three were fit, I see Valencia starting. Fergie likes him i think because of his strenght and ability to get the best out of rooney because he looks for him a lot even when he does not have to pass to rooney, sometimes he just gives it to him. And with Rooney being our player with something extra, the more of the ball he gets, the better.

I'm with you though, with the season Nani just had, he deserves to start but if you notice, when Valencia returned last season, nani's game slightly changed, it almost effected him in a negative way. He started looking to cross more whereas he was more direct earlier in the season. I think the injury he suffered against liverpool and the shock of how good and fresh Valencia looked when he came back might have been a suprise for him too.

Regardless, I think the quality of both Valencia and Nani is is very good. I think the great thing about Valencias game is it can still improve and its not difficult improvements in his game that'll make him even better. Such as cutting in at times and shooting. This can easily be worked on. Nani too can improve. It's more mental for him though in my opinion. Decision making still even though he has a great number of assists is not natural in my opinion. He again needs confidence and games to keep imrproving. We all know on is day he can be a match winner.

However given a choice, I think Fergie starts the season with Valencia and Young if they were all fit. Young is more natural on the left than nani and valencia and Valencia is 'solid' as you say on the right but his solid is of a very high standard. I actually think the difference between them in terms of quality (Nani and Valencia) is minimal but i think the type of players they want to be is very different.

Even the New England defence seemed wise to him cutting back onto his right foot from the left*... Still managed to get a fair few crosses in, with mixed results....

*People who said Sanchez couldn't do the same thing need a slap.

Had his moments but most of the play was played down the left.

No, Nani played on the right but most of the team's play went down the left so he didn't see as much ball as he usually would.

No question out of all our players Nani is one of our most talented if not the most, he really has the talent to be a big big star, better season from him last season but he still can improve and become the world beater he should become, he can do things with the ball Young and Valencia can't.

Good but lucky goal against Chicago, the ball breaking to him off a defender, but his chip was 1st class.
He once again over did his attempts with ball control, but most were a bit off, credit to Chicago Fire too!

Nani on the right>>>>>>>>>>> Nani on the left. And Young on the left is class (atleast with Villa in the previous seasons)
