It took an Arab sheikh and monopoly money to do it - but they can at least compete with us. We're still twice the club they'll ever be though.

if you gave city uniteds injuries and united citys injuries for the season united would have wrapped it up in march

    Reasons, reasons, reasons...

They have had their fair share of injuries and stupidity in the squad. Balotelli has been sent off 4 times this season. Kompany was banned once, and Tevez was playing golf for 6 months. That's 2 of their best player and the third being close to best after what he has contributed the squad in the absence of their best striker. Not to mention that Yaya Toure was out playing in the African Cup of nations in January.

By march? Mate, we could have wrapped it up on the day we beat 8 Blackburn. Instead we let ourselves get into this position and now we are cursing Vidic's injury.

    everyone has their opinion burns

for me around 500 games missed collectively by United players to injury/illness this season is pretty influential

just looking at the table at citys next 2 opponents...

newcastle away right in the mix for CL

and qpr on the final day fighting for their premier league survival, currently only goal difference from being relegated

City will be half thinking they have won the title, and nobody will be expecting United to have a chance

but then again this is the Premier League

    Gary Neville:

"Newcastle is a tough place to play and they're still playing for fourth place."
"It is going to be difficult and anything can happen because this season has been absolutely mad."
"Now all the pressure is back on City."

whatever the run in ... it just does not matter now ... even if we win the league it would not be deserving after such pathetic performance over the last two games ... the loss against Wigan is understandable but the draw against Everton and loss to City is just unacceptable by UTD standards.

again people are going to have different views but for me it would be deserved if united won the title because the league is over 38 games, not 2 games...especially in this season of overwhelming injuries to the United squad it would be deserved...add to that so many results not going the way people would expect...you dont fake a league title triumph over 10 months...yes the derby result was a very poor performance from united but was the result really that surprising considering citys home form? not to me

just like in golf if you make a bogey you take your medicine and move on and who knows, the leader may bogey one of the last few holes so you can claim the title...if fergies team can win their last 2 games and play like the true united then there is a chance if luck and intangibles are on their side

"I think this is a season where you cannot write anything off as a given because we've constantly been amazed at the results. Results that should have been straightforward have been anything but on the pitch.
Despite the fact City and United have a large number of points and the title's been won in previous years with less points than they've got at the moment, it's still been very close in terms of the abilities of the teams. Wigan can beat United, Swansea defeated Manchester City, Norwich can go to Tottenham and win... It's been that kind of season and it's joyous. As a neutral, it's wonderful to behold.
I don't think there are any formalities - even in the middle of the season there have not been formalities and we know, at the end, incentive can make strange things happen. There are so many factors.
We'll all be glued to it. I have to say there's been amazing events in the 20 Premier League seasons but this has the potential to top the lot really."

united havent had a fully fit squad all season - against everton at least 5 or 6 players were unavailable due to injury or illness

in terms of deserving the title...in my opinion after 38 games whoever is top has deserved it

anyway next season surely they wont have as many injuries to cope with and new players will come in to make united a deeper and stronger squad to give them a better chance in all the comps
