According to reports in today's Metro. £250k per week offer about to be made.

Would be terrifying if they got him as well.

You know the only good thing there is about these big spending clubs is that only 11 players can play on the pitch at the same time, so players will think twice before accepting the risk of warming the bench . And I hope Robin will think twice aswell.

Would be a joke. Their striker options are already ridiculous, Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli, Dzeko, now if you throw Van Persie into the mix, just...impossible..

It's going to be become impossible to manage if they sign more and more star names; they can only field 11 people at the end, and people entering the prime of the careers like van Persie and Hazard and so on (if they are smart enough) will not want to join just to warm the bench.

they wont warm the bench, they´d be bought for the first 11 and others can warm the bench..... With all the money they have they can have two first 11s.

Reality is if we dont sign big we wont have a chance in the next years. That last game against City was shocking, they looked like the better team.

And who's to say that the current crop will accept that for the seasons to come? And who's to say that the new players will settle in as well as the current team have? There's a lot of ifs and buts to consider before gulping in fear.

Dzeko and possibly Balo are on their way out, if there's any truth in this story, they'll be on to their agents already....

if they do sign him, so what? they'll have to put aguero or tevez on the bench. The way some commentators talk, Tevez and aguero have a pretty close relationship. would either be happy if their favoured playmate was replaced - especially by someone who could realistically upstage them?

    ^ This.

Doesn't surprise me though. Arsenal are a proven selling club and van Persie is worthy of playing for any club in Europe. City will always be linked with quality players now because money is not an obstacle and it fills column inches. When Napoli beat them in the CL earlier this season they were being linked with Cavani the day after. . . This will continue. Some of these players they'll probably sign. van Persie is definitely one that i hope they don't. From their perspective though he'd be one that would be well worth going for: proven in the Prem and would offer them something a bit different up-front. . . I really hope it doesn't happen.

Doesn't make sense. They already have one of the worlds best line leading forwards in arguero and they also have one of the best support strikers out there in tevez, why would they get V.P?

I see no reason for Robin to leave ....looks like they´ll invest a bit more this summer.

It's Talkshite I know, but I've just heard from the mouth of Adrian Durham a 'confirmed enquiry' has been made on United's behalf for none other than Robin van Persie...

A cheeky offer of £27m may just convince Wenger to sell to a different club in Manchester this time. Not exactly what the squads crying out for, but I can't argue with the decision!
