1-0 Empoli, 4 minutes to go. Norwood comes off the line and gets nowhere near the ball.

FT - 1-0 Empoli, United finish as runners-up after winning the tournament two years on the bounce.

Massacci and Fornasier must be on steroids or something.

They'll know in future to bring a third goalkeeper.

Massacci looks very well developed in that photo.

I really can't believe Norwood got put in goal if that was the situation with no Johnstone or Coll to choose from! Take a look at the photo and tell me that Sean McGinty and Tyler Blackett aren't better suited to the job?! Or do you think they all played rock paper scissors and Olly lost?? Maybe being the senior figure he decided to take the blame if it all went pear-shaped.

As for Massacci and Fornasier, I think we can see the benefits of a Mediterranean diet. Probably lots of olive oil and red wine from a young age!

Shame that we lost, but 1-0 without a proper keeper is a very creditable result.

Just realised that United left Pogba, Brady, Will Keane, Vermijl, and Petrucci out of the final line-up. Brave!

EDIT: Although I've just seen the pics from the trophy presentations on the website, and Keane, Brady and Vermijl are wearing their playing shirts, so assume they all came on as subs. Petrucci is not even looking at the camera, loitering right at the back, Pogba looks a bit grumpy, and Coll is in his tracksuit.

Keane and Vermijl came on at half time. Coll picked up a back injury over there, shame really injuries have hampered him all season. Pogba supposedly has an injury not confirmed yet, but he missed the last 2 games.

Who did Keane and Vermijl replace? And who did Brady come on for?

Do you have the line-ups from the 3rd and 4th matches United played against Sanfrecce and Sassuolo?

William Keane, Vermilj and Petrucci came on for Lingard, Fornasier and Lawrence, and Brady came on for McGinty very late on. Still looking for it, a few lads have emailed the organizer's but had nothing back.

I think this was the Sassuola line-up: Johnstone, Tunnicliffe, Thorpe, Mc Ginty, Norwood, Vermijl, Brady, Petrucci, Fornasier, Cole, W. Keane.

Doubt it, can't remember them ever having taken more than two in an 18-man squad for any tournament (quite understandably). One freak occurence won't change that.
